What a great set of tools for the price of one. These tools have made trimming fun again for me. There is a tool for every trimming possibility. Of course I find myself using two primary tools but I find specific uses for almost every tool. The steel is mild but keeps a pretty good edge. The first thing I did was to harden each tool with a torch and quench. A file doesn't necessarily skate of the tools but are certainly harder and keep a more consistent edge. I keep a small file in my jar and give a quick sharpen every five uses or so and they perform very well. My favorite tool is the left angled square and I use it every day. Aside from a needle and a rib, this set has everything you need to throw and trim with. Very happy and would have paid more for the set.

I quickly realized that these tools must be sharpened to effectively trim pots. I have a diamond disc I put on my wheel, and sharpened the straight edges. The tools then work amazingly well. And, the sharp edge lasts for a long time! So, with that, these are an incredible deal!

I wanted to like these tools, they just don't function as well for me as loop style tools.Rubber bands twisted around the slick handles stabilized them when working, and the larger flat tool makes quick work of smooth flat bottoms. Candidly, they went to the bottom of the tool box after a couple of used.
