Solid tester
I installed a Curt branded hitch along with the Curt wiring kit for my car. Thought i'd get this for peace of mind to test my wiring before i buy a trailer. Only downside is there are no instructions to be found in the package or on the Curt website and the lights are not labeled. Build quality is great though. Something to keep in the glovebox.

GREAT VALUE
Very affordable and quickly allows you to check the operation of your trailer harness connector operation. Arrived quickly with no packaging or instructions. However, it is plug and play. You plug into the vehicle end of the trailer wiring harness and you can test running lights, turn signals, brake lights and emergency flashers.

Works perfectly
Works perfectly. Great, inexpensive way to test your trailer light socket. I'd give it 5 stars except, it comes with zero instructions or markings on the tester, as to what each light means but, there are plenty of reviews that explain this. Great little tester.

Works as it says
I recently installed a hitch and wiring harness on my new Crossover SUV and used this to make sure I did it right. Worked as advertised and says.

Great Find
Glad I found this item. Thought I was going to have to change the wiring harness on my trailer. Found out it was harness in the vehicle. Easy to use, I just set up my phone on video at the rear of the vehicle and sat in the car to test the break and blinkers. Super easy to use.

Simple, cheap, and effective: What more do you need?
The media could not be loaded. If you have installed a 4-way flat connector to provide brake, signal, and tail lights for a trailer, but don't own a trailer yet, this device enables you to test your installation of the lighting kit for your towing vehicle. Some reviewers suggest that the tester's indicator lights yield ambiguous results; however, I recommend that you simply go through a series of tests using your vehicle's brake pedal, turn signal lever, emergency flasher, and headlight switch. As the associated video shows, if your installation was done correctly, you will see a distinct pattern of LED lights, single lights for turn signals and two lights for brakes, emergency, and headlights. Also, given that the 4-way flat connector and other connections in trailer lighting kits can only be installed one way, the risk of crossing wires is very unlikely. Of course, your concern for safety would dictate that you double-check everything when you actually connect a trailer.

Works perfect...but.
Plugged it into two different vehicles and got no lights. I cut the ground lead insulation flush with the pin as in the picture and noticed the inside was looking odd, almost rusty brown. I took a 3" spiral ardox nail and cleaned it a bit though you could use anything that fits in. Plugged it into a vehicle and voila I have lights. Now the issue that seems common in the reviews is needing 2 people to check if the lights work and what lights mean what. Plug the unit in and turn on your lights and hazard flashers. Walk to the back and you will have 1 light on steady and 2 lights blinking. If all the lights work you have operating trailer lights. To make sure it is wired correctly turn off the hazards and put your right blinker on, the LED on the right should be blinking, if so, everything is correct. This unit is to make sure YOUR VEHICLE lights are wired correctly NOT YOUR TRAILER lights.I have had Curt hitches and wiring kits installed on 3 vehicles and never had any issues over many years. I am a little surprised that I had a small problem with something as simple as a tester but in the end an easy fix. All's well that ends well.

Works as intended
Needed this to test my setup and rule out an issue that may have been my wiring or my parents utility trailer, this (with an extension cable) made it easy to self test myself to ensure it wasnt something on my end.cheap and good to have on hand for myself or others. Recommended
