Nordic Ware Loaf Cake Keeper, Blue,12.8"L x 7.3"W x 4.6"H

I absolutely love this thing, and a family member (whom shall not be named here, you know who you are) tried stealing it at at Christmas dinner! The blue is a very pretty shade, and near identical to what is shown in the product photo. To better understand what you're getting, there are some things to know and note. 1. There is a 'tongue & groove' type of setup on each short-side to hold/secure the lid onto the base, and the lid (top part) fits into a groove that runs along the entire base (bottom part), to help keep it sealed on all sides. This is important if you plan on adding a 'runny liquid' glaze to your food inside (think 'watery'). I'm not sure if it will hold a glaze that is super thin; if it doesn't leak, it will make a mess taking the lid off/on. I've used thicker glazes and they were fine; didn't leak or have any problems. There's also a small lip on the inside of the groove, to better help retain any wandering glaze that's inside (but it's not super deep, so you couldn't drown it in glaze). You can see all of these features in the product photos. 2. This lid is quite tall; so if your bread raises a fair bit over your baking tin, this keeper has the clearance to accommodate that. You know how there is a 'larger' tin in the standard tin pans (slightly wider, and slightly deeper than others). This keeper will easily accommodate loaves made from the larger tins; it is slightly roomier on all sides, so the larger loaves will fit comfortably inside without damaging the baked good. 3. Both pieces clean up super easily, but I've only ever hand-washed it (I don't have a dishwasher, but I don't know if I'd ever run it through a dishwasher, just to be safe). The product does say it is dishwasher safe, however, so I dunno; I might try that out if given the opportunity. 4. The keeper is very lightweight, but rigid enough to easily hold the weight of baked bread loaves (think banana bread) without warping, sagging, or misshaping. 5. I suspect the plastic bottom would 'cut' easily if you aren't careful (it just has that feel to it, you know what I mean), so I've always been careful not to get heavy-handed when cutting/slicing my baked goods while it is sitting on the base. I would probably recommend cutting your baked good off the base just to be safe and not scar the blue base. 6. My baked loaves have always stuck firmly to the base while inside, not sliding around inside the container during transport to and from events. This was actually a surprise to me, as the smooth plastic looked like it wouldn't hold things in place, but it actually did! Overall, this is a lovely keeper for your kitchen or for travel, it's a highly functional and useful addition to any baker's setup. And it's nice enough that even family members will try and steal it from you!

Really like this cake keeper great size, sturdy, and I like the clear lid. It's simple to open and know it stays closed and keeps your cake fresh. Great for leftover cake slices.

This bread keeper is attractive, keeps the baked goods fresh. Unlike some reviews, I do not find this hard to open or close.

Good for banana breads. Do know that the lid can be tricky for those trying to open it without instruction. I won't leave it out at work for that reason afraid someone will accidentally break lid.

This just arrived and I can't wait to use it. In the past I have use foil to cover my loaf brad or cakes only to have them get stale within a few days. I am hoping this will do the trick I need.

My friend recently learned how to make bread and I wanted a way to display it as well as enjoy. This loaf keeper is well-made, strong, and while not %100 airtight, close enough. (bread also needs to breathe) It is absolutely charming in my 50s inspired kitchen!

Just love the style and colour of this cake keeper, although some of the family find it quite difficult to take the lid off I found it okay (it tucks into the slots at each end). I waited and waited and really um'd and ah'd before buying it though... it never seemed to be 'on offer', and really is way too expensive compared to other options.
