Nice Norwegian Knitting Book
Interestingly, this book is written by two men. I love it when I get a knitting book that is male-inspired. It just has a different sensibility. The traditional men's sweater in white and black is lovely and has a crew neck and an overall pattern. The Teddy Bear is adorable in soft colored hues - tan and ivory with a pink nose. The Mittens are very colorful and have diamond shapes in varied colors. The Christmas Card Sweater has a grey background with red, green and blue designs. It is my favorite sweater in the book. The Doubled Hat looks warm and is beautiful besides. It has a green top with a red and white pattern. The stockings look quite complicated and though lovely, probably not a pattern I'd try myself. The leg warmers are blue with patterning. I think I'll make a pair for a friend. The Sweater With Hearts is a perfect Norwegian sweater to try knitting. It is red and white but the colors can be substituted for any colorway you like. There is a beautiful white herringbone pattern for a baby knit in all white, but again you can substitute the color for any that you prefer. There are several lovely patterns in this book and they remind me of Dale patterns. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Norwegian knitting.

The Best So Far!
Another wonderful book from these incredibly talented designers, and of their four books (so far) in my library, it's my favourite one, with 55 Christmas Balls a close second. Save, (the name of the fabulous teddy bear), is already started for my great-grandson, and the Christmas Tree Skirt is next. There are sweaters, fingerless mitts, mittens, stockings, legwarmers, a hat, neckwarmers, pot holders, coasters, a tea cozy, blankets, afghans, pillows and a delightful sweater for the dog. And interestingly, a few of these patterns are not colourwork. And as with the other books, all of the items are beautifully photographed with great accompanying stories and text.If you enjoy Norwegian knitting patterns (and even if you don't knit!), you are sure to love this book! And did I mention the fabulous teddy bear?

I purchased the book because the preview showed a picture of the beautiful crewel embroidery used on old lusekofte sweaters
This book is for beginners. Written by real Norwegians, I was hoping it would have some truly complex projects but it does not. I purchased the book because the preview showed a picture of the beautiful crewel embroidery used on old lusekofte sweaters, and I assumed I would be able to learn how to do this type of embroidery if I bought the book. Wrong. It's just a picture of something old, nothing more.If you are looking for simplified small colorwork projects in dk-weight or larger yarn, you might like this book. If you are looking for a challenge with beautiful complex detail and fingering-weight yarn, this isn't the book for you.

Great book, but small tear in cover
The book was delivered on time and is in mostly good condition, however the first book came with a small tear in the cover. I returned and a new one was delivered quickly, but also had a small tear in the cover. Not worth doing another exchange, but it was a bit frustrating. Otherwise everything looks good.

This book is a beautiful knitting book with many great patterns inspired by Norwegian designs. I love the twist Arne & Carlos give to everyday items that you can make at home! It's a bonus that I got the opportunity to meet these great guys at the Nordic Knitting Conference in Seattle earlier this month. I'm looking forward to start knitting the baby blanket, which Arne said was inspired by Nordic socks.

I think that if I hadn't done some fair isle knitting before, I would have had some trouble understanding the instructions. The charts could be labeled better(number rows). The patterns were so alike I was disappointed. I would have returned the book but I wanted to make the teddy bear for my grandson, but it just wasn't pleasing me so I'm not even sure if I'll finish it. Sorry guy's.

Itβs ok!
I wished there were more pictures of what was inside the book, it was not quite what I was hoping for, I thought there would be a lot more patterns.
