Raven MPV7100 Hybrid Riding Lawnmower Power Generator and Utility Vehicle, Red/Black

If you're a masochist and you want to waste a couple of thousand dollars, buy this machine. The ride is terribly uncomfortable, but I accepted that to have a mower for the yard area of my small horse farm. It worked for the better part of a year and then the mower blade bolt broke off. Since then it's been sheer hell. Customer service is non-existent if you call, you'll be on hold for 20 or more minutes. The first time I called I got a gentleman on the phone who didn't even know the company had a so-called traveling technician that would come to my property to repair the mower on site. Frustrated, I called the second time to find out about just buying a new mower deck out right even though the unit has a 3-year warranty. That warranty is useless. I called again and a woman explained that they had a traveling technician and they would come to my property within a week. No one contacted me. It's been 3 weeks and my grass is literally three feet high. I will now have to hire someone to come in with a bush hog to get it back to a height that any typical riding mower, which I will now have to buy to replace this horrible waste of metal, in order to mow my yard. I've called two or three times in the past week, asking for the whereabouts of the so-called mystery technician who has not contacted me to repair the mower deck. This purchase has made me question continuing to shop on amazon.com. Not surprised the item is currently unavailable. I will be trying to contact Raven America again next week. If that doesn't work, my attorney is prepared to contact them on my behalf. This company should be shut down. Amazon should give full refunds to anybody who has purchased one of these machines.

Motor exploded and I can see the gears inside. Other minor trim pieces have broken since I bought it a year ago.Warranty service wait time is 2 weeks at the local shop and they told me it's $100 to pick the mower up from my house and another $100 to bring it back.Don't waste your time or money.Update: Replacement motor stopped working. Called for service and local shop no longer works on these lawnmowers. Closest service facility is 58 miles from my house. Do no rely on Raven's website for service locations. Map is not correct.

This 1-star review is not for the mower itself. I actually love the features the mower offers.However, the service from Raven (Through Denver Global) is AWFUL. I cannot stress this enough.After hitting a mound of dirt (I assume...I don't remember hitting anything in particular), the blade mount became bent. When I first emailed Denver Global about the issue, I was informed that it was not covered under the warranty, and because the mount is attached to the Cutting Motor Assembly, the whole thing had to be replaced. Even thought this wasn't good news, the Technical Supervisor (Mary Piercy) was very nice, and quoted me a price of $191.15.When I called in a few weeks later to order it, I was given a price of over $300!! I was told that Mary no longer worked there, and the sales rep (Fernando Gallardo) was very short and rude.After a mishap with the order, I called and talked to the new Technical Supervisor, Amber. She was even ruder, and actually hung up on me!This is by FAR the worst service I've ever experienced. Even though the price of the part is high in my opinion, I'd happily have paid it if the representatives showed the slightest bit of kindness. Instead, I'll just use the Raven as a utility vehicle and forget the mowing deck JUST so I don't have to deal with those people again.

I've had my Raven for just a few weeks now, so it's a bit premature for a full review. However, it has performed great so far. Starts well, runs well, cuts well. Great turning radius. Generator has worked well and is a great feature. I have 3 acres in Florida, about a third is yard, a third is high brush and a third is wild and wooded. It takes a short amount of time to get used to it as it sits higher then my old Husq-built Craftsman Garden Tractor. My biggest knock to date is that I wish it came with larger tires. Again, my older GT ran 26" rears. In fact, I was set to purchase a new Hsq built GT from Sears, but they wouldn't take the order. As far as I was explained, they were out of stock nationally and had no idea when they have stock. So, I had seen the original release of the Raven, and my mouth watered. When I couldn't order from Sears (my had my old Craftsman more than 15 years), I checked it out again and couldn't resist the deal on Amazon. Delivery was fine, although I had to stay home from work and it wasn't delivered until 5pm. Would have been nice to have a delivery window less than 12 hours. When it was finally delivered, the lone driver had a difficult time maneuvering the large and heavy item off the truck. We worked on it for about an hour, at least he was very conscientious and careful. If I would have realized, I would have un-crated in on the truck and it would have been much easier. Anyway, un-crating was not difficult and we drove it right off the pallet in hybrid mode as others have recommended. Have not really used it on electric mode but have really enjoyed it and it performed well so far. Also, catches a few stares when others see it for the first time. All in all, very happy so far. A bit concerned about the prospect of issues and the potential for servicing since there does not appear to be anyone in my area. But, I am happy with the purchase so far and looking forward to its continued use. One of the things I really love about it is the lack of belts and ability quickly remove mow bed. I am hoping the Chinese motor works and it lasts as long a prior riding mowers.
