Not Minimalist, But a Good Winter Substitute
I was looking for a brown boot to get me through the winter in the northeast. I typically wear a very minimalist stye shoe, like Vivobarefoot. I wanted a boot without a heel, as close to zero drop as possible without a ton of extra support or a firm insole or outsole. This seemed to fit the bill and so I took a chance. Overall, the fit is true to expectations. The only minor complaint is the toe box is more narrow than I appreciate. After being in Vivobarefoots most of the time (which have a very generous toe box) these feel a shade narrow. My expectation is, because they are full grain leather, they will expand some and give me the room that I like. The only other critique would be the lacing system, which take a little getting used to. The laces wrap around the back (as shown) through a eyelet of sorts. It makes tying the boot a little cumbersome, but I'm getting used to it.The quality of construction is fantastic.

Very comfortable
I have been wearing these for about a month now and I absolutely love them. It took about a day to break them in as initially they rubbed around the ankles a little bit. But, after that first day I have been extremely happy with them. The size is accurate and I couldn't be more pleased.UPDATE: Been wearing the heck out of these things for over four years now and I absolutely love them. Hands down, the best shoes I've ever owned. Wish I could buy another pair but can't seem to find them anywhere.

Love Love love!
I used to wear what I called jelly bottomed shoes in the 70's and loved them. I have often wished to find them again with no luck. I kept searching for jelly soles... now that I have found these I may never buy another kind of shoe again! They are comfortable right out of the box and it is like walking on, well, jelly! So nice looking too! Absolutely would recomend them them and the price is quite reasonable I think. It is a bit like a moccasin but no rock bruises on your feet!

Love
Bought for a christmas gift for my husband. They fit like a moccasin and do take sometime to break in the leather for a custom fit. They seem to be breaking in very nicely.Highly recommend for someone looking for a comfortable shoe. Minimal to no arch support, but does accommodate custom fit soles. Very nicely crafted shoe.

These shoes are the perfect combination of hardiness and style
These shoes are the perfect combination of hardiness and style. They can withstand manual labor and long hiking trips and still be worn as casual weekend wear in the city. They are also super comfy.

Nice boots / terrible orthotics!
4.5 stars for overall quality, but 2 stars [barely] for the weird "orthotic" insole.[I was REALLY looking forward to wearing these boots--for "moccasin-like" trail hiking--here in the Bay Area hills...]They are marvelously soft, run 1/4 size small in length, and are cut wide in the top half of the boot [the top two holes.] Sizing is different in every brand of course. For instance, I wear a 7.5 in Clarks desert boots, an 8 in Tevas, an 8.5 in Keens, and a 41EU size. I wear a 10.5 in women's but US 1/2 sizes end at 9 1/2 for nearly all women's brands, so I buy uni-sex casual shoes in men's sizes. The Clarks run narrow and--as a woman--I find them to be a perfect fit, lacing and all. [Since buying shoes online can be a bit of a crap-shoot, I am being very detailed here about the fit.]Unfortunately, the boots are already packed for return. The main reason is that the nice leather covered, removable orthotics have the most bizarre arch support I have ever encountered...yes, "bizarre." In 99% of shoes or boots which have arch supports, they are located on the inside 1/3 of the insole, gradually thickening from mid-foot to the inside edge of the insole. With the SeaVees 02/60 boots, the arch support is a literal "lump"--ONLY in the middle of the insole--and does NOT extend from there to the inside edge of the insole as does any other arch support; so, it pokes the middle of your foot and misses the actual arch altogether. In other words, there is actually zero support where you need it...and a lump where you don't...Also, for folks with narrow-ish feet/ankles, the top holes of the boot will come together before they are properly snug against your foot. Of course you can wear thick socks but I do not like heavy-weight socks, especially with summer coming...plus the soft leather will definitely stretch out so these would end up being like floppy house-slippers.Obviously, for other reviewers here, the arch support was not an issue. Perhaps their arches were higher than mine and so the "lump" simply did not poke the middle of their feet. I did read a review on another website where a guy said the arch support seemed oddly positioned...but that was only one review out of maybe ten. I am guessing that these boots would likely work for you--male or female--if you do not have narrow-ish feet and low to normal arches. I did consider replacing the orthotics, but good leather-covered ones would be $40-50 bucks, so they are going back.
