I love lemon on and in many things but always seem to be out of fresh lemons. Just for kicks I decided to try Tru Lemon as a standby. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. It is a sugarless crystalized lemon powder that dissolves easily and has a true lemon taste. When using on things like fish I tried simply sprinkling on the powder, while this works acceptable I found it better to dissolve in 1 tsp. of water. This makes it apply more evenly and penetrate the flesh. I have used it every ware I would use real lemon with great tasting results. It makes a great lemonade also, I use between 1 & 5 packets in 12 Oz of water depending on my mood (just a hint of lemon to a strong lemonade). Being in air tight foil packages I see no reason its shelf life wouldn't be indefinite. I now look at as a must have addition to my spice rack. I plan to try their other "true" products next.
