Came with a ton of chia seeds, really easy to put the seeds on the head, grew really long in 2 weeks, looks fun sitting in the window, be careful with how long the plants stay on the head because they will grow mold after a month so you’ll need to harvest the seeds, also you can eat them and they’re great in salads

Great gift for history teacher. But was missing the chia seeds. Already gifted so could not return

Bought for my dad who is a Trump fan. This was easy for him to set up and start. The chia seeds did grow a decent amount, the only problem is mold or something did start to grow on it and we had to start over.

Update: I took off a star because after weeks of owning this, it really is a pet. You are constantly pouring water out of the tray and topping it off with water so it can leak out again. Apparently that’s how it works and for all my effort, less than 50% of the chia seeds even sprouted. Poor George looks like he has the mange.I grew up watching these commercials on TV, I can’t believe I’ve never had one. George Washington, come on, he’s a slam dunk. This is definitely a great gift however I purchased it as a gift to myself. He kind of looks like an old lady from certain angles, but it’s still close enough. It is kind of hard to get the seeds down the ponytail on his back, but I guess that’s not a big deal. Mine hasn’t sprouted yet but I’d like to think old George would be impressed that his old lady likeness is being used in this patriotic way, it makes me chuckle. Supposedly he said, “Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism” but I think he probably also would have said, “I’m a Founding Father, sure, but you really know you’ve made it when your likeness becomes a chia pet. God bless America!”

Not impressed, was very hard to grow chia "hair" on Trump. Was really cool until we tried to use it. Not impressed I would pass on this next time, was a great gag gift but impossible to grown the chia on the round head surface.

While the terra cotta colour of the chia pet perfectly reflects the skin tone of the man it's made to look like, the chia hair will not grow into a bleached out combover.

I purchased this in late November. It was a joke Christmas present for a friend that is less than a Trump fan. When wrapping I removed a blank sticker on the product. Underneath there was a manufacturing product sticker indicating "sell by August 2020" . Seems a bit deceptive !!

My poor chia trump has dead chia plantlife all over the top and a crazy mullet at the back. If that's your thing then you'll love this. We were disappointed if not a tiny bit entertained by it ;) I think because the terracotta is so porous the water that seeps out the bottom just doesn't have time to get absorbed by the plant beforehand. Also you really have to keep an eye on the tray, we've had spills all over the window sills because a full planter's worth of water has emptied into the spill tray.

Update: watch how much water is added. Apparently the first attempt trumps hair turned moldy.2nd attempted turned out great - but I guess the excitement wore off and it just died off! Lol- - -Gotta love those Chia Pets!!Another hilarious gag gift!!! Although the birthday person was not impressed... everyone got a good laugh!! In my opinion... I think it looks just like Trump!! Lol i cant want to see this thing grow!!!

The product is the same as the picture but the water inside evaporate fast so I have to fill it up multiple times a day but since I work, the side of his head always have water compared to the top of his head which made the plant grow longer and faster on the side than on the top. It makes him look a little more bald than he already is. But other than that it was pretty fun and worth it
