I was specifically looking for a STAINLESS STEEL apple slicer, to replace my existing rusted one. As soon as the product arrived, I did the magnet test. And guess what, it failed the test. The others reviews are definitely misleading. Very disappointed.

The green handle is a nice soft grip material to prevent slipping while using, which is great. The white plastic is stronger than the picture makes it look, as it is hard and does not bend under the pressure applied when cutting into a fruit. The "blades" are not sharp like knives, so they are safe to the touch. The pressure is what makes them slice through the fruit, not a sharp edge.I used this to cut some apples for my daughter and boyfriend this evening. We did a honeycrisp and a granny smith. Both were sliced easily and the core was removed in full. Since the edge of the blade is not sharp, it released the juice of the apple slightly around the slices, which made them just a bit more enjoyable. I recieved this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review. The only thing I do have to say that is not 100% great is that the blades did not cut through the skin at the bottom of the apple, so I had to flip the device over and press lightly to make the pieces detach. That being said, this still gets 5 stars because I have NEVER found a device similar to this that can make it all the way through.

I love this apple slicer. It is VERY easy to slice the apple and go. I think this is a must have in every kitchen.

Simple to use and nice even cuts. this is a great way for kids to eat apples.
