It's working great in that role
Drive is fast and reliable (so far). I've formatted and encrypted it for use as a Time Machine backup volume for my new MacBook Pro. It's working great in that role. Best feature is the power feed to the laptop. Given that this drive has it's own power brick, rather than pulling power from the laptop to power the drive (as with many portable external drives), this drive feeds power over USB-C to my MacBook Pro. As a result, I rarely have to connect the Apple power adapter. Just being connected to this backup drive charges my laptop quickly enough to get through most workdays, even if I'm unplugging to use my laptop at meetings.

Only took a few minutes to hook this into my Mac and setup the Time Machine mac application to back up to it.Easy as you please.

DO NOT BUY
Giant piece of crap that lags and causes Adobe CC to crash; will not store data. When only drive in use, somehow with over 2 TB of space remaining the 'scratch disks are full' all the time. WASTE OF MONEY

its not bad but I guess I was hoping it would be a little bit faster, also was trying to make it network drive by connecting it to my router and it doesn't work ( but it might be my router and not the unit itself )

BUENA RELACIÓN DE CALIDAD Y PRECIO
Lo considero una buena adquisición. Sentí cierto desencanto al creer que, por usar la conexión USB-C, conectado a mi iMac, sería muy veloz la escritura. Pero copiar 2.5 TB tardó más de 24 horas. No comprendo a qué se refiere cuando especifica velocidad de 5 GB/s...

Nueva solución de backup
Muy sencillo de operar y diseño muy agradable, sin embargo el sw podría mejorar para permitir hacer respaldos incrementarles y mejorar su interfaces gráfica
