Great Product, EXCELLENT Service!
I bought this Lat Machine back in 2009. Since then, it has worked wonderfully, and looks almost as new as the first day I put it together. For serious fitness enthusiasts like myself who don't want the hassle of fitness membership, having pro quality equipment at an affordable price is a must. One of the biggest sellers for me was the Lifetime Warranty that Body-Solid includes with the product. This Lifetime Warranty was recently put to the test after one of the cables broke after six years of wear and tear. I called Body-Solid customer service and spoke to a gentleman named Scott. At first I was a bit dismayed when Scott told me that the Warranty Registration card that I had sent in was not in their system. I told him that I still had my copy of the Warranty as well as my receipt. Scott told me it would not be a problem and simply took my word for it. I have to say that Scott went above and beyond to get me my replacement part to me in a timely manner. The Customer Service provided by Body Solid was beyond excellent. It's nice to have the piece of mind that in the unlikely event that the machine breaks again in the future, Body Solid will remain true to their word and make the situation right free of charge. Service like that is rare in this world, and I will definitely be buying more fitness equipment from them in the future.

Great machine
Wow! Very nice machine. Strong and stable yet light enough to move around. I have very limited space in my one car garage. I am able to just slide it around to where I need it and then slide it off to the side when done. Some other reviewers mentioned there are no instructions. This is 100% accurate. However all you have to do is look at the diagram which shows what nuts and bolts to use and where to affix them when piecing this machine together. Now I am definitely not mechanically inclined but I was still able to put this machine together in about two hours. The installation of the cables might slow you down a bit but I even managed to do that on first try. Do the cables last. Last but not least.....DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY OF THE NUTS AND BOLTS UNTIL COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED. Just in case you screw up along the way. Some reviewers mentioned that the machine tends to tilt forward when using the lower pulley. As I found this to be true, I also discovered that this can be eliminated by simply EASING the pulley SLOWLY back to its cradle. You should be doing this anyway as it makes for a proper lift and forces good posture.Great addition to my home gym. I highly recommend this product.

Directions certainly lacking
Product arrived as described in 2 boxes (fortunately the boxes came at the same time). Inventoried all of the pieces and nothing was missing but the directions left a lot to be desired. Basically just a diagram with not really a starting point so I read some of the other reviews and started from the bottom and worked my way up. Biggest struggle was the cables, as I put the flywheels on first and then had to take them apart as the cable links would not fit thru.Took about 2.5 hours which wasn't too bad considering all of the pieces and lack of directions. Unit is solid and is working as designed, I think it is a really good value for the money spent.

Solid Product, lacks implementation
This machine is very solid, near gym quality. Easy action on both cables. I'm very glad I got it.Shipping was fast, maybe too fast. When I opened the main box, it looked like someone had thrown a grenade in there. Styrofoam was smashed and crumbled everywhere. 7 of the 8 big cable ties were snapped. I spent an hour with heavy vice grips and a hammer fixing some bent pieces. The Body Solid rubberized logo had disintegrated off the metal due to friction. Minus a star for that, though I get it -- shippers hate big heavy boxes.Next, an absolute minimum of effort from Body Solid to correct shoddy documentation would save customers lots of time and frustration. It seems the operating principal from them is: ah, they'll get it eventually. Here's how you fix it BODY SOLID. Include in step one the warning that the cables will not fit through the pulleys once assembled. Why this is left to the final step is baffling, but the fact is, you'll have to take apart each pulley to push the cable through.Next, on Step 2, include a small balloon blow-up graphic showing which way the slant cut on top of the middle vertical beam goes. Super simple to do and it will save customers (like me) who didn't notice there even was a slant cut some effort. Minus one star for lazy documentation that would be incredibly simple to fix. The manual comes unbound after all.Hope this helps both customers and the seller.

you can figure it out pretty simply. It came in two different boxes on ...
For the money, you can't go wrong with this machine. Although the parts are not marked and the instructions are simply an exploded drawing of the machine, you can figure it out pretty simply. It came in two different boxes on two different days. Probably took a little over one hour to assemble it. If you use Olympic weights you will need to buy two adapter sleeves for it (they do not come with it). The action is smooth and quiet. JUST REMEMBER...Do not bolt the pulleys in UNTIL you feed the cable through them and the frame, trust me!
