Do yourself a favor and get this bad boy! You won't be disappointed!
This light is great. I use it for lighting up an outdoors space to practice martial arts at night where light is lacking. Nothing beats a free workout space. The feel of the light is sturdy, yet it is not heavy at all. The plastic are of high-quality grade and solid. The design is clean. Operation is simple. Brightness of the light is superb. I can get by most of the times with the 30% setting. I've attached some photos of the light in use at the different intensity levels on an outdoors tennis court, so you can easily get a frame of reference of the flood area. The light is mounted on a regular tripod with a custom adapter at approximately 6' in height. I can see this being extremely handy in different settings for different people, whether you're a repairman, athlete, camper, photographer, mechanic, etc. This can easily be used both indoors and outdoors. If you don't feel like purchasing the proprietary tripod and if you're handy, you can build a simple adapter mount to fit the light on a regular tripod. The thread size of the light is M16-2.0, just for your information. The only reserve I have is the overall battery life, not the usable time per charge, but the total operable lifetime of the battery over recharges. I'll have to wait and see if the performance of the battery degrades over time. Other than that, I would highly recommend this light!

Great but some small improvements would make it awesome
This is a really neat light and is super bright. The idea of a hand-held unit that can flood a large outdoor area with a massive amount of light is very appealing, and it seems well made. I do see a couple of areas that could be improved and that would take it up a notch: - The unit should not be able to be turned on when closed. Closing it should cut power. I'd be a little worried tossing this in a trunk or other space where it might move around since it could easily turn on which leads to the next point. - The power switch is not recessed, so again it could get bumped and turn the light on. Since the light has no cutoff when closed, this is not ideal. I'd love a more solid, and recessed switch. If you could reach it with your thumb when holding the light it would be even better. - I wish it had a small onboard storage compartment for the charger. The light seems big enough but I haven't seen the inside. I have too many cheap little black power supplies like this kicking around. I'll bet most people do, so onboard storage would be great. - A others have said, an adapter that can make the light fit on a camera or survey tripod would be nice. It could be sold separately, but would be most welcome. This issues aside, I really like this light a lot and would definitely buy it again. I think it will be extremely useful for work around the house, when out in the woods, etc.

Doesn't hold charge, battery lost full charge after one week
I fully charged the GoGlow LiteBook portable light overnight and it is completely dead (no power) after just one week.

A Thready Problem
The review of this light has two parts. The light gets five stars. It is very adequate and does its job admirably. It feels and acts like a piece of professional equipment. Its heft is part of its problem. The threads for the tripod are on the back part of the hinge which means the system hangs and leans forward rather than over what should be its center of gravity. That makes it prone to falling over. The second part of the review is the tripod and its threading. Camera tripods have a 1/4-20 thread. That means the diameter is 1/4 inch and the threads are pitched 20 to the inch. Those are perfect for cameras and other lightweight equipment. The Litebook has a more substantial thread. Unfortunately the bolt size is 16mm x 2.0 metric (course) thread. That is ABOUT 5/8-11, which is a professional laser level tripod bolt. The about is the problem. It is not compatible with any known tripod but the one designed especially for this light. It is a problem because when they are sold out of tripods, we, fire departments and other emergency departments have no place to go. It is a problem because an adapter to allow it to be used with a heavy duty camera tripod will not work. That leaves an average of 3.0. Proprietory threads work when you can keep up with the demand and make them standard rather than the exception. Being compatible with a laser tripod would mean availability, even though they are very expensive and have pointy little feet. Not the most thoughtful design.

EVERYONE needs this light. Work or play the perfect, brightest light.
I LOVE this light!! It arrived very fast. It is the brightest work light that I have ever owned or seen. This design is not like anything else. It is also very lightweight for the large size. It comes with an AC (home) charging cord and a DC (car) charging cord. The light on the charger is red until fully charged then it turns green. One button does it all. First click-30% Brightness (Both panels lit) Second click- 100% Brightness (Both panels lit -VERY BRIGHT) Third click-50% Brightness (One panel lit) Fourth click- Turns Unit Off. In the manual it says the unit takes 4-6 hours to charge fully. It lasts 7.5 hours on 30% power, 4.5 hours on 50% power and 2.5 hours on 100% power. 30% is VERY bright and will most likely be good enough for most any need. The tripod is very well made and comes in its own black bag. I can't say enough, I don't have anything negative to add.

For scout troop camping. Very pleased
I ordered this for our scout troop based purely on the descriptions and reviews. We would like to replace our propane lanterns so I took a chance at this price point. This light is very bright and looks quite durable. Bouncing these lights off our white dining flys will provide a lot more light than the propane lanterns. I am also looking forward to how much faster we will be able to provide light when we arrive at the campsite after dusk. I can't comment on the battery life yet but it appears it will be sufficient for 2 nights. Will comment later. I am so pleased with these that I will be ordering 1-2 more once I know the battery life. I might recommend ordering or making a stand for the light to get the light higher. We didn't but I can see how it would be useful and provide light over a wider area.

Nice concept, but needs better battery
This may be a great light, but I don't know, since every time I have had occasion to need it, the battery is dead. I bought this primarily to have if I get caught washing one of my cars and not finished by sunset. When darkness starts to fall, I get this light out and the battery is dead. I suppose I am gong to have to remember to plug out in and charge it from time to time, but it would be much nicer if the battery had a longer shelf life.
