Bplus-puck screen/filter for espresso (53.4mm) for Breville/Sage/La Spaziale S1 Dream Della Corte

Purchased after seeing another 9barista owner using this to help with puck preparation / reduce chance of channeling. It works fine with the original 9barista basket and the precision IMS B652TH27.5M basket. Doses larger than 18 grams and you may have a little trouble fitting in this puck screen and the silicone basket cap depending on your grind size and tamp.It's well made, heavy, and feels like it deserves to be used with the 9barista. Should be noted it will absorb some amount of heat from the incoming water. If you live above 3000m you may already be on the edge of an acceptable temperature for extraction with the 9baritsa, and thus may want to avoid this thing. On the flip side if you're looking for a way to slightly reduce extraction temperature, this could be your answer.As for what it actually does, it's hard to say for sure if it helps with channeling. I think it may help tilt a shot that was going to be bad into acceptable, especially when you're dialing in a new coffee. It's had no effect on my extraction times.One thing it does for sure is produce solid, easy to knock out pucks, and thus assists with cleanup, especially if you're using lower doses (less soupy mess)I'd rate it a 4 out of 5 given the price (giving it a 5 in Amazon's review system, as it feels unfair to rate its performance in a machine it wasn't advertised to support).

I got this to help with getting a more even extraction over the puck, with less channeling. It works pretty well in that regard: less channeling, but sometimes still some. But the biggest "plus" in using this is the way it keeps everything clean! No grounds on the group head, at all. So, somewhat better extraction, and much easier clean up.

Works better than expected. 4 stars only because it is so expensive!
