18th - 19th Century Renaissance - Pirate - Poet Shirt Pattern

The reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because most of the issues aren't a big deal with a loose fitting shirt like this. This pattern is OK if you don't have much experience, but you're better off buying one for the same price or cheaper from a fabric store. This was hand drawn and printed on over-sized paper, not the thin pattern paper you might be used to. The first line in the instructions is "Due to the size of the drafting paper we use, you will have to tape 2 or more sections of pattern together or draw lines to complete the pattern." Luckily I didn't have to do that with this particular shirt, but not something that should even be a possibility in a $14 pattern. Alignment markings are on the outside of the pattern, when I personally prefer them on the inside or I'm either cutting around them or redrawing them. The instructions on the Reinforcement Strip for Shoulder read "Trim end to fit seam at neck". I shouldn't have to, that's what a pattern is for. Biggest issue: some things don't even line up, like the top edges of the Neck Facing. So, all in all, the pattern works, but I would not have paid $14 for it.

This was a great pattern, just what I was looking for to wear to the Renaissance Faire. Wasn't too difficult to make and it looked great.

The shirt came out GREAT!!!! Pattern is RIGHT ON!!!
