GTM Gun Tote'n Mamas Concealed Carry Raven Shoulder Pouch, Tan, Small

Have the tan, great with S&W .38 Special revolver
I got this for myself because I didn't want a "purse" that I would have to sit down somewhere and risk it getting taken. If I'm going to carry, I want it ON me. I wanted something other than the concealed holsters I have (which I can't wear with all my clothes, depending on the shirt I'm wearying) and my "kangaroo pouch" (which isn't dressy, while okay for casual stuff). I have a 9mm and a .38 S&W Bodyguard Special (5-rnd, revolver, hammerless). I think this would be too small for the 9mm (which I don't want to carry anyway due to weight) but it's perfect for the .38 special, and would be great for smaller guns as well.I know some reviews say you can't keep a lot in it, that's true. This isn't a hobo bag. But even with my .38 special in it, there's plenty of room for wallet, money, iPhone, checkbook, etc. No, I can't carry a full-sized hairbrush or all the other crap I can carry in my normal purse, but if I'm "carrying" then I want to keep weight down. It's great for going out to eat, or to the mall, to the store, etc. Hands are free, and it's easy to get at the stuff in the front pockets, like wallet, etc.The strap has a cable in the middle of it for reinforcement. I wear it cross-body hanging by my right hip (I'm right handed) or I could wear it on my left for cross-draw if I wanted. The holster inside the large pocket is Velcroed in, so you can change the position, angle, etc. to whatever works best for your gun and draw style. The included holster fits snug on my .38 special, so I would guess anything much larger would not work. If you have something smaller, it would give you plenty of room. If you already have a different holster with Velcro on it, I imagine you could use it with this as well instead of the included one.My gun didn't print at all on the outside of the bag. If you didn't know what it was for, you wouldn't know I had it in there. The leather didn't seem to feel stiff or scratchy at all to me. I think it is very well made and I'm really happy with it. Not sure if I want the black and red one yet, but I'm loving the tan one. A friend of mine who also carries saw it and she really liked how it was set up, too.

Love this bag!
I have this bag in black and love it so much that I bought another in tan. It is compact; you won't be able to carry very much extra "stuff" but you can carry the basics: a wallet, keys, cell phone, etc. The bag is meant to be worn cross-body which is more secure. People have commented that the slash proof strap is too stiff but I have no trouble with it. The bag is very well made with sturdy hardware and zippers. The gun compartment in this bag can accommodate up to a full size handgun (mine is a 4 1/4" barrel semi-automatic pistol); it can be drawn from the top or either side and the draw is very quick. The full size gun can only be drawn from the top; smaller guns can be top or side drawn. Some reviewers mentioned that the tan leather stains easily. I contacted the manufacturer and they said that a water and stain repellent spray can be used; they recommend Kiwi products. I sprayed mine and it repels water; time will tell if it also resists stains. Please note if you do use a spray-on product, it will briefly darken the leather but it dries quickly to the original color. If you have questions which product to use just email the folks at GTM; they responded to me in less than a day. Also, I have been using the black bag for 3 months without treating it, and the leather is just fine.Of all the GTM bags I have seen and even though it is the smallest, I like this style bag the best. It allows for the fastest draw which I think is most important. If you want to carry a lot of stuff, look elsewhere!

Functional & stylish
This is the only bag I carry with. I wanted a crossbody bag that is not too big for my petite height & allows a reasonably fast draw. The middle compartment holds my 3"x5" wallet, fob key, pen, & other small items. The front compartment holds either my iPhone or sunglasses. There's a back flat zippered compartment for flat items like stamps or receipts. Since the gun itself is heavy, a bigger bag would be unacceptably hard to handle.I did have to make a few modifications to this bag to make it perfect:The 'holster' supplied with this bag is too soft & useless; my S&W M&P Compact 9mm hangs up on it. Fortunately the gun compartment has a full velcro panel to allow a holster to be positioned however you want, so I ordered a molded Ohai holster from CrossBreed Holsters which offers much more support & securely holds the gun & covers the trigger for a safer draw.I really like the rip loops supplied in the gun compartment for a faster draw, but a loop sticking out not only looks strange but is difficult to quickly & firmly grab. I used the loop to attach a metal ring & then clipped a light decorative leather tassel to it. I then pull both zips up to the ring. With the bag carried in front of my right hip, I can access this without looking or fumbling for a rip access to the gun compartment. There is also room below my holster to add a velcro loop that holds an additional magazine. Finally, the top slot is great to hold my iPhone 6 while shopping but it too has velcro, which means it continually attaches itself. I placed a section of loop tape on the hook part which keeps the slot open, yet can easily be removed if I ever want the slot to be closed.
