High quality product, sturdy, perfect for my needs - very happy!
My 16 year old Scotty has a tumor on her leg which causes her pain and is on meds for bladder cancer which makes her unsteady on her feet. We have a doggy door in a window that is about 9 inches off the ground and had a low step for her to use, but she would hesitate at the step, especially when coming back inside and stepping down - we could tell that she did not want to step down and put her full weight on her sore leg. With her cancer and her age, she will probably not be with us much longer, but we couldn't stand to see her suffer when we knew a ramp would help. We considered building a ramp ourselves to save cost, but decided to go ahead and order this one (which seemed to be the best value for the quality) to save time. I ordered it Sunday afternoon and it arrived on Tuesday.I am SO glad we bought this ramp - we could not have built one of such high quality in that amount of time. (When your beloved dog has only weeks left, there is no time to waste.) The ramp is sturdy plastic, solidly made but not too heavy - you can tell it's well made when you lift it. The textured surface is rough like a medium grit sandpaper, but I like that because I won't have to worry about slippage when it's wet outside. It wouldn't bother my feet to walk on it, and the dogs don't seem to be bothered at all. The raised sides prevent her falling off, which is important since she is shaky and even a 9 inch fall could be very painful and damaging. My biggest worry with this ramp is that it would easily fall down - with the doggy door in the window, the edge of the ramp just rests on the window sill, which is maybe 5 inches deep. We rent, so there was no way to really secure the ramp to the sill without damaging the wood. Now that it's all set up, I am SO happy with it - it doesn't move at all! We have 3 dogs (all around 18 - 23 lbs) and several cats, all who use the doggy door. My other two dogs are younger, and tend to "launch" onto the ramp to rush outside and chase imaginary squirrels. The ramp doesn't budge! There are also frequent "traffic jams" - two cats want in, one dog and another cat wants out, while one cat sits under the door flap to be a pest. The ramp is wide enough that to accommodate the mess, but no one gets knocked off because the ramp's raised sides keep them all in line (like concrete rails on the highway). This ramp is perfect - I wish I'd gotten it sooner! I'm glad we didn't try to make one ourselves. It will be a snap to clean because I can just take it outside and hose it down - it would work as an outside ramp as well, since there is no carpet or wood to rot. I am so glad we have it for our elderly dog, and it works wonderfully for all our other pets too. I highly recommend this product.

It's okay
It's not the sturdiest thing. It has small I guess round grips on back bottom and the top 4 corner's. Unfortunately mine only came with 3 to place on there and they were just thrown in the box without anything covering the sticky side's so I almost didn't even see them because 2 were stuck somewhere on the sides or really I don't know were 1 was stuck at first because after about 10 minutes of trying to figure out how to get it to stay in place and not slide on the carpet I came back into my room and saw the 1 laying the floor then as I was looking at it I noticed 1 was stuck to the side of the ramp. After I figured out what they were and where to put them I noticed 2 places at the top for 2 more to go so I looked everywhere and found another one stuck on a paper in the bottom of the box that made it pretty much useless but I did get it to stick on the back of the ramp probably won't hold on there for to long though because the paper ripped off and stuck on it as I was trying to remove the instructions or whatever paper it was stuck on. I never did find a 4th on anywhere though. Even with the grips it still wouldn't stop sliding down on the carpet so I had to put a wooden box under it at the bottom and tuck it in-between my mattress and my box spring at the top. It stays in place doing all that now but as my English Bulldog tried to go up it she was sliding everywhere. I don't know what to do about this problem as a permanent solution yet. I have to look and figure out what some people were talking about when they were saying they bought some grip paper or grip something but for now I have a towel that I have stuck and tucked running down it so she doesn't slip and slide. I don't feel like it's as sturdy and not slippery as it should be even now but she can Walk or Run up it and jump to the top of the bed.

Solved our problem
We recently got a Corgi, a great dog but a heavier one than we'd expected. He's also a little skittish. He loves to ride in the car (your basic SUV type) but getting him in and out was a problem. My nephew could lift him in and out but I have a rotator cuff injury and he's too heavy for me so we were looking for some way to make it easier to get him in and out of the car, preferably on his own. After looking at several ramps, we decided to get this one. I was a little concerned that it would be wobbly and scare the dog but it fit easily and remained steady. The first time he seemed pretty leery of it and we had to set his front feet on the ramp, then give his rump a little push. He scrambled on up pretty easily and, as I said, the ramp stayed steady. We did basically the same procedure in reverse to get him out at the end of the trip. The second time we used it, we had to put his front feet on again but he went up on his own without the little push. The third time he went right on up with no help or prompting. The fourth time, he got in the car on his own as I was getting the ramp out to attach. He's been getting in and out on his own ever since. I admit that I had a moment of being a little peeved at having paid $50 for something we only used three times but my bad shoulder reminded me it was well worth $50 not to have to try to hoist his adorable but hefty self into the car.
