Tips: This is a DIY kit that you need to assemble yourself. WARNING: Tesla coil will interfere with electronic products when working, which is the characteristic of Tesla coil itself. So, please don't let your phone get close to the tesla coil to avoid damage. When we were children, we always full of expectation to the unknown world. We ever imagined stepping on the water, also imagine ourselves flying in the sky. I imagined that when I pick up a lamp, it will shine when it sits on my hands. It doesn't need to nailed to the ceiling or pinned to the wall anymore. Now, this tesla coil makes dream true. What a marvelous little thing! It lights the bulb without any connection. This tesla coil is a wonderful conversation piece. It’s a cool piece of art even just stands on your desk. Features: 1.Color: white base + blue secondary coils 2.Size (L*W*H): 85mm*85mm*175mm / 3.3*3.3*6.9in 3. weight: 270g/ 9.5 oz (Net weight); 650g/ 23 oz (shipping weight) 4. About the power supply (include) 5. Audio cable: 3.5mm / 0.13" round port 6. Voltage:8—32V (8V start to works, can light up bulbs; 13Vstart to arc,can play music; 24V has the best sound quality ,no higher than 32V) 7. Current: 0 - 2 A (power is determined by the input power, when it is 24V, the current is about 48W) Package list: tesla coil spare parts. (please see the pictures of the parts in the window for details.) Caution: 1. Not suitable for people with electronic medical instruments. 2. Do not touch the tesla while working. 3. Please do not use this tesla under environment with flammable and explosive materials or closed coil and big size metal.

A very good kit for those with moderate experience.
There are plenty of photos so I won't add mine. The kit works as well as all the pictures and videos show. The only difficult part of the assembly for me was the surface mount LEDs. I'm 70 years old and those tiny pieces are a bit hard to work with. Some soldering experience is needed to get this assembled, due to the surface mount LEDs but the rest is quite simple. I was a bit surprised at the amount of energy put out by this small unit. Electronics has come a long way since I built a Tesla coil for a school project. This would be a good gift for curious budding scientists, it's easy enough for middle or high school children with a bit of supervision.

instructions are unreadable.
They must of found a printer from the 50s. And there is NO instructions. Your stuck looking at the worst black and white copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. What is there to learn from this kit? Nothing and the pictures instructions that are NOT readable don't even finish the project. So Im stuck with crap that I can't do anything with. $75 down the drain. People and companies that sell stuff like this for education or fun. These people are the problem with the world today. They take your money and crap on you for giving your money to them.

Beautiful little Tesla Coil kit!
A big fan of Nicola Tesla. I really enjoyed assembling this coil project. All the information you need is provided, you just need some skills in hand before starting. The main grey area was concerning the 5 small resistors. If you look at the schematic, it shows you where they go. All the rest was just looking carefully at the pictures and having good soldering abilities. The music coming from the coil is the most amazing thing to me. Still trying to grasp that phenomenon.

DUD
I agree with K.Bell. I'm experienced in assembling circuit boards, and after soldering the components perfectly and screwing it together, all that works are the two micro LED's on the board, and the heat-sink fan! A total DUD for $70!!

Fairly easy to assemble, and makes a great demonstration
If you've assembled electronics before, this kit is not difficult. Biggest challenge was in getting the surface mount components (the LED's) centered on the pads, and not tombstoning when soldering one side at a time if you use just a standard iron. It works well, and looks nice. Great demonstrator, and also a great tester for unshielded and RFI prone devices in your home, which it WILL cause some strange behavior on if it's anywhere in the vicinity.
