Not very well designed.
I'm pretty frusted with this cleaning kit. Previously I've used CamelBak reservoirs and their cleaning it so everything is in comparison. For Osprey, opening is slightly smaller which means I cannot fit my hand inside reservoir to scrub inside of it. The brush fits but you really can't get any elbow grease going with it.For both Osprey and Camel - the dang flexible tube brush is SHORTER than the tube. I just don't get this. It's 5-10 inches too short. Either sell a brush slight longer than half the length, forcing users to go in from both ends. Or, sell a brush slightly longer than the whole thing. So it can be cleaned completely in one fell swoop. Instead of forcing me to use an awkwardly long brush that still needs to be stuck in from both ends. For Osprey - it is MUCH harder to detaching drinking tube from reservoir so this discourages proper cleaning and too short brush leaves 5 or so inches of disgusting goo left in drinking tube. For Osprey - the drying rack thing really doesn't fit in reservoir. I forced it in during first use and then really, really struggled to get it back out. Now I only stick it in 3/4 of the way - because at least I can get it back out that way. The plastic is super cheap and every time I bend it it looks very fragile. I can imagine this lasting in real world camping conditions where its going to be exposed to extreme heat and UV light. Mine lives in my kitchen so doing ok so far. CamelPak's 'wings' design is far superior.Mesh bag it comes in. Pretty snazzy but so form fitting no one is going to use this again to hold the cleaning kit because it is such a tight fit - could be used as a stuff sack for something else - maybe eating ware??So overall - just awkward to use because there were a million ways to better design this especially when CamelPak is just sitting there with obvious design improvements. But still, mostly it works and is better than trying to use non-custom brushes for same purpose.

It's in the bag.... or maybe not.
Just received this kit after several days of delay. UPS delays.....Everything looks to be of good quality. I'm not sure about the mesh bag. I tried putting the drying rack back in and it looks like it will be a bit of a pain. I'll probably have to roll the bag on like compression hosiery. Same with trying to stow the brushes while the rack is in use. I know the mesh is to allow drying, but a thin nylon stuff sack might have been better since you'd likely dry the brushes while the drying rack was in use (hang them on the hangar hook) and then everything could be stored the next morning without catching. The bag, which is probably included for convenience sake, is the only drawback to the system.Comes with mesh bag, drying rack, reservoir brush, tube brush and a couple of cleaning tablet packets.

Works Great!
First off, people are unhappy about the fact that the tube cleaner is a couple inches too short to go entirely through. Here is my opinion on that: Too many people were too lazy to take off the bite end, so even though the tube was getting clean most of the way down there would still be a moldy build-up around the bite/tube connection. Simple solution to that though... force the user to take the bite end off and clean from both ends. The Camelbak version of this is the same, so its not like its only a flawed design from Osprey. The tube brush fits well and slides through easily. The bag brush fits the corners well leaving no parts untouched. The rectangular hanger does a good job of keeping the bag spread out and allowing air to flow through (squeeze to fit in the opening and hang easily anywhere you wish). There isn't much to say about this kit except that I had no problems with it. The fact that the tube brush is slightly short only forces me to do a better job cleaning my reservoir. It is kind of pricey, but no complaints there.

Nice set of bottle brushes
As a homebrewer as well as hiker, I appreciate that Osprey put a lot of thought into this set. These are really high-quality brushes for the hydration bladder and the tube. The brush bristles are soft. The shaft of the tube brush is a flexible spring. It is just almost enough to clean the whole hydration tube. For some reason it is ~2" shorter than the tube. I'm using this on the 100 oz. Nalgene hydration pack.)The "drying rack" is actually a clever folding "skeleton" device which goes inside the bladder after you have washed it. It keeps the sides of the bladder separate, allowing it to dry completely.

Osprey Hydraulics Reservoir Cleaning Kit
I purchased the cleaning kit primarily for the hanger device that is placed inside the reservoir to allow a more efficient method of aerating and drying it. This device, probably made from a plastic like substance and sized considerably larger than the mouth of the Osprey reservoir requires you to squeeze it to allow entry. I suppose it serves its purpose adequately as the bag is dry when used again. My objection is that after using the device several times one of the supports at the distal end fractured. I suspect an engineer should be able to devise a better method of collapsing the device than is presently being used. I wrote to the company seeking to get a replacement but they responded with too many hoops and up to a 50% restocking fee. There are two brushes included in the kit, one for the reservoir and the other for the tube leading from the reservoir which to date I haven't as yet used. So I can't comment on the functionally of the total kit. However if your main purpose is to allow adequate drying of the reservoir to prevent mold, odors, and potential bacterial growth I'd continue to search for other like products.

good cleaning system - hanger leaves to be desired...
This is the perfect companion kit to your Osprey hydraulics system. The brushes are perfectly designed to clean the interior of the bladder and almost the entire tube. The hanger, however, is not that easy to get in, and does not 'aerate' the bladder much once in place. As a result, even after you let the system dry for a day or too, there's always a some water left inside. I usually use some paper towel to absorb what's left.I'd say that the kit is a must have for the brushes - you can do without the hanger.

Neat kit for cleaning the Hydrauilic resevoir.
This is a nice little kit and it works well with my Hydraulics bladder; the tools come in a neat little bag to keep them together.I bought the kit because I'd left water in the bladder after a holiday, and there was growth in it. - A scrub with the brushes cleans the line and body out; and a treatment with the sterilising tablet killed any remaining bacteria.I saw other reviewers have had problem getting the hanger in and out of their bladder, but I've experienced no problems with that. - I can't say that it will hang well once it's in, nor that it's easy to get the last few mL of water out, but since I've been drying it this way there's none of that stale taste when I fill it again.

Must need for all Osprey Hydration Bladders, and probably other bladders as well
Well after a couple of years, I still have this cleaning kit, even though I have upgraded my osprey hydration bladder.Still in its fiddly case as well, with the little clips to hold everything together, although can never make it look like it does in the picture.Highly recommended for the money, and the ease of use

Brilliant bit of kit
This is ideal for cleaning my Osprey Hydration Bladder, the short brush gets into all those little nooks and crannies, the long wire brush is perfect for cleaning the hose. Great product. Highly recommended.
