How bad do these shrink in the wash?

They don't seem to shrink, but they run small. If you normally wear L, I suggest you buy XL. Also they are of the absolute cheapest quality you'll likely ever buy including threads unwinding on literally every seam. They smelled like diesel fuel when unpacked which is a trick Chinese use to keep stuff from being bug or infested during shipping, so you'll need to run them through the wash a couple of times before wearing. Oh ya', they are not colorfast & will bleed their die on anything else you was them with.

Love these. Solid pair of shorts.

Update..I wish they would allow for exchanges as I went from M to L to XL. L did feel okay but still a tad bit tight. It's hard to say if they truly shrink after washes but XL was the right loose fit in the leg area and waist band. Still love them. Got a second pair in different colorLove the way these shorts feel. They are soft. As some have mentioned they are thin but for me that's okay. We will see how they hold up after a wash. Waistband is not super tight but just the right fit. Pockets aren't too big or too small. Definitely can move around in them.

This is a great deal for a bulk pack and my husband wears these constantly. I will say they're not as lightweight as typical running shorts... I'd put them somewhere between a running short and basketball shorts.
