Capresso 12 Cup Perk Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel

My drip coffee maker broke so replaced with this percolator. This makes a superior tasting cup of coffee and it is very fast. So glad I bought it. I can actually smell my coffee brewing now. Will never go back to a drip model….this is a keeper.

I was in the market for a new coffee maker and happened to be at a party where they were serving coffee. The coffee they had was delicious and so smooth and after finding out they had a percolator I decided to try one for my home.After reviewing all the ones I could find, I decided to go with this Capresso. Reasons being - it was stylish, it keeps the coffee warm, it is all stainless construction, you can see the coffee percolating through the top cap, the cord is detachable, 12 cup capacity, and the reviews here on Amazon.I was slightly concerned about 2 things.1. The coffee grounds that end up in the coffee. But I can say that after using my new Capresso, there was 1 ground in there and I'm still going through my old more finely ground coffee from my old drip maker. So, I'm thinking I'll try out some courser ground coffee after I get through what I already have and it should be great.2. My other concern was an auto shut off. I kinda really wanted that. I don't want to be out and start worrying over a coffee maker that's been left on and feel like I should go back home to make sure there's no fire going on. I drink maybe 4-8 cups of decaf all day long so it's very handy to come back to the machine after an hour and a 1/2 and there's still hot coffee in there.However, the only percolator I found with an auto shut off was not highly recommended, bummer I thought. But I came up with a solution that's working for me just fine. I purchased the Belkin outlet attachment that has a 30 min, 3 hr, 6 hr timer on it. I plug that into the outlet, plug the coffee maker into that and voila, it goes off after 3 or 6 hours, depending what I set it at, and no worries. So based on that I would have given 4 1/2 stars, but I really, really like the coffee that coming out of my new percolator, so 5 it is.One other suggestion, in case the manufacturer is actually reading any of these is - make one in red!! and I'd probably buy another!

I was a little hesitate at first to purchase this item. I am so happy I did. After my well known expensive percolator coffee maker fell apart, I needed a new one. This percolator is wonderful. Makes coffee quickly, tastes wonderful, nice and hot. I am so happy I decided to purchase it!

This is for the Capresso 8 cup electric percolator. First, it's a very nice perk and makes good coffee. However compared to other methods of perking it does fall short. Probably my preferred method is stove top. You are in complete control, the speed of the perk, time etc. However you do have to attend it the whole time. And as with all modern day percolators including the Capresso, the holes are too big which allows grounds in the coffee. The second method i have used is a vintage 1955 Sunbeam, a great coffee maker! 400 watts for a nice slow perk, small holes in the basket so next to no grounds, you can use a filter but isn't necessary. The down side is it does take about 16 minutes to brew 8 cups, which I didn't mind. The worst thing though is how long can you expect a 60+ year old electric appliance to work? It quit after a short while which led me to purchase the Capresso. Like I said, it's a very nice maker. I think using 900 watts it is fast, a little over 1 minute per cup, but that in my mind is a problem. It perks too hard. So bigger holes or in this case, slots are needed, which means more grounds in the coffee. I tried a disc filter once, forget it! I gave it more than ample time at the end of the cycle to drain the basket. When I removed the lid, the basket was still full of coffee water. No amount of coaxing with a spoon handle would allow it to finish draining. I do not recommend filters for this percolator. Just put up with a few grounds as with all perked coffee, I never minded that but people have gotten so used to drip filtered coffee that it could be an issue for some.Overall I like the Capresso perk and would recommend it to a friend.

Since I use the percolator for guest I used it for the first time and cut my finger on the glass top piece.It turned out that the piece was broken. This is unfortunately a great disappointment when you have no way to satisfy a problem. I would like to have a way to contact the seller. What is available is a preset response that is not designed to contact the company or representative, only a robot.

I’m an A+ coffee drinker, for that reason a good coffee machine is also a good investment for me since I always buy expensive high quality coffee beans.This Capresso percolator didn’t have enough information on the Amazon ad but I did my own research before buying it. I wanted to prioritize a percolator that doesn’t have a big elephant nose dripping coffee which is difficult to clean so this ergonomic design fit my preferences and also fit nice on my countertop with my other appliances, the handle is very comfortable. It has a nice looking spotless steel finishing that is easy to clean, most importantly the materials are very high quality, the non oxidable steel interior keeps the water and coffee blending perfectly, the inner parts installing the brew are easy to use and easy to clean and they have engraved the numbers of cups to make so you just adjust to more or less coffee for a light or intense coffee flavor.The machine makes a very unique and unusual sound in the whole boiling process which I love it because this make it even more special, the pressure inside and the sealing of the lead is so intense that the aroma doesn’t come up but at the end you have a whole cup of coffee. The flavor of my coffee in this percolator is so far the most amazing experience I have had in my many years drinking coffee.I highly recommend it, it’s worth the price.

Love this percolator. It's stylish, it starts up the instant it's plugged in, and the coffee is ready in far less time than it takes me to boil water on the stove. It also keeps coffee hot for subsequent cups when it stays plugged in. And did I mention that every cup of coffee is excellent? My Keurig machine is taking a backseat to Capresso...
