Kayak Strap Tie Downs
This is a simple idea but it works well.

Awesome! Bought Again Only Because One Got Lost on a Trip!
These Hood & Trunk Tie-Down Loops are a perfect solution for securing gear to your vehicle. They fit perfectly on the couple of different vehicles I've tried with no issues, and the straps are strong and reliable. The soft tube ensures that it won't damage any internal components, providing peace of mind during transport. Additionally, the strap length allows for easy access with tie-down hooks without risking direct contact with the vehicle and rub while traveling. I've used these same loops for years with great success, until a mishap from the wife while un-tethering led to one being launched into a river and lost forever, haha. All in all, they're reliable, durable, and perfect for any outdoor adventure where you are carrying equipment on your roof. Would recommend!

Two Years Later - Awesome Product!
I purchased these in July of 2017 (it's now July 2019) and I've used these when hauling our kayaks all over our area and as far as 5 hours away to Delaware. Even with my heavy 14 foot ~80 lb kayak, these provided great tie downs at the sides of the hood and at the bottom of the hatch of our Subaru Crosstrek. No more trying to find a tie down under the car bumper and having the ropes rub the paint. The product has stood up very well, and at this point even if they were falling apart, at their price I would 100% purchase another set. Thanks for a great product!

Well made
I have used these once. I installed it under my hood on the side (rather than the front) and it slid back rendering the strap flaccid. I haven’t attempted moving it to the front of the hood as it doesn’t appear it will fit in my Honda CRV. It’s a great product. I’m still not sure it will work for me. I will update if and when this information changes.

Good straps
Drove 1,200 miles with these straps helping hold the kayak down. They worked great. The engine heat didn't bother the one stuck under the hood in August. These straps have proven to be durable and effective.

Brilliant idea for tie downs
Brilliant idea for an easy means of tying down ends of your kayak to your car. Simply open your trunk lid or hood, place rubber end inside with the loop laying over you fender, then close the hood or trunk. I found that leaving the included black rope tied to one tie down, makes the loop end weigh more and easier to stay in place while I hold the other one and close the trunk. These are a great idea. They are cheap and eliminate the need to crawl on the ground looking for a place to tie your kayak.I use these along with the universal kayak roof carrier which is two pieces of high density foam rubber with a shallow V shape on top and comes with two ratchet straps. These items together secure my kayak to the roof of my Toyota Solara.

Great solution for a 2018 Highlander LE
Except for maybe the battery bracket in the front and the spare tire bracket under the rear, the 2018 Toyota Highlander LE lacks good options for attaching front and rear tie-downs. These Propel loops fit securely into the small wells molded into the radiator shroud and behind the lip of the rubber cargo mat. So far they have provided strong, convenient attachment points, have not interfered with the hood or liftgate, and have not been affected by engine heat.2022 Update: Sorry this is late, but I've been away from kayaking and just noticed this issue with a newer Highlander. The new design of the Highlander hood now interferes with a tie down loop at the front. The attached photo shows that on the 2021 LE model the hood closes with a tight narrow seal four inches behind the nose, different from the 2018 model where it over-hanged the grille with a more forgiving rubber seal underneath. Now there is not enough of a gap for the strap to get to/from the engine compartment.

Easy to use
I use it to tie down my kayaks. Two to 4 kayaks can be hooked into each strap with a hook on the end of a rope. I used to use just plain straps that I screwed in under my hood but this is MUCH better! I can remove them easily instead of tucking my old straps under the hood. They work great! They are the right length and they are very sturdy. They should last almost forever!
