I was so happy at how easy it was to set this up. My old remote broke and replacing it was simple. It works so fast now too!

I had stepped on the original remote control for an older model ceiling fan with lights from Hampton Bay. Upon researching replacement remotes not being too optimistic, came across this item. Bought it based on its high 4+ star rating and thousands of purchases already listed. It arrived quickly and worked like the original remote right out of the box!! I did keep the broken remote to be able to see the existing dip settings on the old remote in case those were needed for setting up. original remote had factory set dip settings and the new remote arrived matching those. there are instructions to help you change those settings if it doesn't immediately work out if the box but I didn't need to make any changes. Finally, I could operate the ceiling fan. I had turned off the light and had the 3 speed fan set on medium before accidentally shattering the original remote and learned I could not manually access the fan or the light with just their pull cords. the new remote also looks identical to the original remote just without the Hampton Bay logo sticker. Highly recommend since it's near impossible to replace an original remote for a ceiling fan that is 17+ years old and still working like its new.

Easy to use you do not have to program it

The unit itself works fine so far. Longevity is yet to be seen, of course, as it has only been installed for 2 months. The relay/control box could be smaller as other reviewers have stated. In my case there was no room for it in the electrical fan box in my ceiling and the bezel for the fan to ceiling was too small. So, until I install either a bigger fan hanging box or insert a junction box in the attic next to the fan box it is hanging by the #12 feed wires and sitting on the fan bezel out in the open -- which looks pretty tacky. But, hey. It my bedroom nobody but my wife and I see until winter (in Arizona) when the attic is a nice temp to put that extra junction box in.Installation was easy for anyone with basic electrical know-how as the colors don't match exactly to the standard black= hot wire, white=neutral, green= ground color scheme found in housing wiring. (Red is also typically found where fan circuits are found in wall switches where the black wire feeding current into the switch box is split into two hot wires: one black and one red to feed the light and fan independently with two switches in the wall plate.) Knowing that and looking at the included directions with this unit should make you able to know what to wire the relay/control box wires to in your fan ceiling box.

Dad had an old remote that wasn’t working like it should. This one replaced it right out of the box. Just put a battery in it and it worked

We purchased at the end of January. It’s now early April and the light button at the top has stopped working. Other buttons work. We’ve tried reset and replacing the battery just incase but still doesn’t work.

These jeans fit perfectly!Made you look.So this was a replacement for a replacement. The original went bad, and the replacement would turn on and off whenever it felt the need. I thought maybe it was a neighbor messing with me, but changing the dip switches inside made no difference. The light would come on at 2 AM, or the fan would change from low speed to 5 million RPM. I replaced it with this one, it slipped right in, and not one single problem since I installed this. Buttons are easy to find, even in the dark.
