Quieter than my fridge! And the kitties love it.
The media could not be loaded. First impression is a good one!I just put this together today, so we'll see how it holds up over time. A friend recommended this brand based on an older model she has that's no longer available.I bought the stainless steel version. It's a I expected - just the lid is stainless, the rest is plastic, but again that's how it appears online so no surprises. I still wanted the stainless top since that's the part my cats will lick so it might effect flavor.First impressions:1. This is literally quieter than my refrigerator, and I only filled it about half full. I had a ceramic fountain years ago and never liked how loud it was. This one is quieter by far. (In my video you can compare in the last part with the background noise of my dishwasher and dryer running).2. I LOVE the fact that there's an OPTION to TURN THE LIGHT OFF! I know lots of other people seem to like the blue light, but I prefer to not have excess light (pollution) in my home and I'm so happy the designers made this optional rather than compulsory, as is the case these days with so many electronic devices.3. The instructions have just the right amount of detail. And they're funny! The pump is a little character that tells you how to clean them. So creative and useful! Because it's amusing it's more inviting to read - and proper pump maintenance is vital to keeping the fountain in proper working order - so well done in making this part inviting.4. I took the time to properly wash all the parts of the fountain and give the charcoal filter a good rinse like the instructions say to do to help get rid of excess charcoal dust and also help eliminate anything that might not smell/ taste good to the kitties. Both of mine were drinking from the fountain within five minutes of putting it out. They both like to lick water droplets out of the sink and tub so I know they prefer fresh water to bowls. So I just did my job of cleaning anything from the brand new fountain that might smell or taste unfamiliar and they both embraced it.Happy household so far!;

So Glad I Bought This
We currently have three smaller dogs and one medium-sized dog. Even though we have plenty of water bowls that get cleaned and replenished regularly, for whatever reason when we go out in the backyard, I’d have to stand near our outdoor decorative fountain to keep them away. If I let them, they’d be happy to drink out of that thing all day long. With what gets into it (bugs, pollen, leaves, tadpoles, tree frogs, etc.), plus the stuff we occasionally add to help clean it (never if there are tadpoles!), it’s not healthy for them to drink from it.I decided to get them a pet fountain and landed on this one based on the abundance of positive reviews. They love drinking from it! They all but completely ignore the outside fountain now. I don’t know why, but I guess running fountains are just that appealing to them, and now they get their fill inside the house.Assembly is very easy, and so is refilling, which I have to do about every other day. I am honestly surprised at how much they drink because the capacity sounded high, but apparently they needed it. It’s nice to have the option of the light to easily see the water level in it. (I suppose it’s good, too, if your pets wander the house at night, but ours don’t do that.)The pump is almost inaudible until the water level starts getting low. Then it’s not super loud but goes from almost silent to a quiet rumble. If you have this fountain near where you work or sleep, I don’t think the noise would be disruptive at all.My only complaint is that the bowl on top is shallow. I know dogs tend to be messy when they drink (as compared to cats), but they make a bigger mess than they did with regular water bowls. I think making this water bowl deeper would involve making the whole assembly taller, so I understand that a deeper bowl would somehow “ruin” the very sleek look of this fountain, but point being that you should be aware of this, if using it with dogs, when deciding where to place it. We have ours on a large silicone mat, but there’s now a perpetual puddle around the fountain. For the price and quality, though, it’s really hard to complain.I have yet to have to clean it, but I’ve taken off the top pieces to refill it and can’t imagine it’s that much of an issue to clean. It looks easy enough, and there are no nooks and crannies to collect gunk.I have also purchased extra filters (it comes with two), and those are relatively affordable. Changing those is beyond easy.Lastly, the pump is replaceable. Obviously you want one that’s going to last a long time and therefore shouldn’t have to think about that, but the instructions say that this one should last 1-2 years. It’s good that you don’t have to toss the entire assembly every 1-2 years, assuming a replacement pump priced to have that make sense. The only way I could see myself repurchasing an entire assembly is if they redesigned it to make the bowl deeper.I’m very happy with this purchase, and not having to fill water bowls, which I did a lot with four dogs, is a really nice perk.
