Why did you pick this product vs others?:Excellent. It was used to split maple logs (3 feet long x 8-12+ inches in diameter). Total of a cord of wood. Worth every dollar for this wedge.

This wedge does as good a job, better and safer than my axe. I did have to sharpen it, which you want to do before using it. You'll need a heavy one handed mallet or small sledge hammer to use it. I haven't used a maul, but I think for small jobs or occasionally splitting logs this works fine, is safer and spares my shoulders from using an axe or maul. It is a workout to split logs this way.

I had some wood which nearly impossible to split. My estwing wedges made quick work of splitting the logs. This is a well designed tool that gets the job done!

Works great! It was able to drive through a big piece of oak with knots in it. Once you get it started it drives through logs easily. Worth the price!

Is holding up to spitting even the hard wood. Storm damaged trees of all sizes and depth. Easy to use an size is great. Splita them well and is very functional.

Heavy duty works as expected

I have used this wedge on a variety of woods and it works fine with all of them. Would buy again if need were to arise.
