Why is it called a Shortwave Receiver and not a Transceiver?

The seller is trying to market to the public. Does it make a good receiver....yes. Does that use waste a good transceiver.....yes. I love my 7300.

Yes you can add the mars mod. Just google it. It's just a diode or two to be cut out. It will also allow you to transmit on 630 meters at reduced power

A 13.8 volt DC external power supply is required - it should be rated for at least 20 amps continuous duty. There are several different types of power supplies - linear and switching - either will work. I have an Astron linear and I am pleased with it.

How much swr can the auto tuner handle?

the internal automatic antenna tuner automatically matches the tranceiver to the ante3nna within the range of 16.7- 150 ohms SWR of less than 3.1
