Alright, so here is the deal with the toothpicks you need. You have to buy pointy on one side, blunt on the other side toothpicks to fit this. However, you also have to get a bit shorter ones. I purchased this with 3.25" toothpicks, and ended up cutting down the length of the toothpick to make it work. I would say probably 3" or shorter to fit. Once you have the blunt end and the right length, it works like a charm.

Got this as a gift after we saw a commercial and I mentioned what a cool idea it was. Pretty disappointing. It doesn't grab the toothpicks very well, and we tried different kinds including the not-pointed ends, for it to grip better, but it still failed more often than not. The plastic and construction are cheap, and the mechanism is not smooth. It needs more control and consistency. I figured no worries until I found out how much it cost! Wow, not worth the price!!

This is a very nice sculpture of Vader at the scale, and it's a fun little trick thing for getting the toothpicks out, but unfortunately it only works about half the time. If I were reviewing it solely as a toothpick dispenser I'd have to give it one star, but it's more of a display item for us, so it's more than that.

Novelty gift for my mother who just LOVES this and got a kick out of it.Packaged well, arrived on time. Solid construction and paint job was well done.Would give a realistic 4.5 stars if I could only because the lever for dispensing the toothpicks can be finicky.

I hope Amazon would just remove all the reviews by people who don't actually own the product, because they are not the least helpful. I ordered this a few months ago, and the product finally arrived last week. The price was acceptable to me at $60, and it's a little cheaper now. Sure, $150 would be way too much, but actually, even at $60, the product can't really justify the price. It is not very well made and the plastic is a little too light to feel good. The parts also do not move smoothly as in the YouTube video. It can't really pick up the toothpick, unless a special kind of toothpick is needed, in which case, they should at least include a few in the box and offer an option to buy more in the future. I am not a Star War fan, so I can't say if it would be worth it if you collect everything Star War. I just appreciated the humor in the design and thought it could be useful. But since it doesn't deliver the toothpick, there's no point of keeping it. I wish the execution were better.

First, this uses JAPANESE TOOTHPICKS. Why? Because those LITERALLY have miniature handles on them.That out of the way, This is a must-have for the coolness factor. As a reliable toothpick dispenser, I give it 2/5 even with the right toothpicks.

Got one for my husband, and one for a nephew - both loved the gift. Be gentle with it - it's just a little plastic doo-dad, but with the right toothpicks, works perfectly.
