Great, inexpensive option for a camcorder.
The media could not be loaded. I received this SEREE HDV-S5 Full HD 1080p 30fps Camcorder 24MP Resolution Macro Mode Support up to 64G SD Card External battery 3 Inch Touch Screen HDMI TV out Digital Video Camera (HDV-S5) from the seller Sereer Technology and the shipping was fulfilled by Amazon FBA. Price at time of purchase was $117.99.I purchased this camera to replace my current camera I do reviews with. I've been using an old Olympus Stylus Tough and if you've ever seen my videos you can tell the white balance has never been right under my soft white light bulbs. I've tried using daylight and am currently attempting to move the videos to a new location with all new daylight bulbs, but I need something that is a little more versatile. I watched several videos on inexpensive camcorders and this one appeared to be one of the best deals. After purchasing I can agree. Now I'm going to be upfront. This camera will not put out 4k quality videos, or anything equivalent to shooting motion pictures. But it is significantly cheaper. You will have trouble finding anything cheaper than this. That being said, the camera does have limited features to keep it within this low price range. So let's start with the positives. Well, as you can see from the video, the color is a really good true color. The flip out LCD can be rotated and that is great for me, giving me a chance to finally see what the camera sees. I'm able to shoot at a high resolution without any sacrifice in fps. The camcorder fits with universal tripod mounts. The battery has a great battery life. It is very lightweight, compact, and fits naturally in your hand (even if you have larger hands like mine, or smaller hands like my wife). The camera records video in the .mov format, and the microphone picks up my voice well, as well as the voice of my kids in their room (which my old camera would not). One thing you need to get used to is the lack of focusing. It can be set to shoot either regular or macro mode, and in each case the camera is on a set focus and you have to get used to just how close you can get, or how far away you can get while staying in range. Not a problem for me since the camera sits on a tripod. I do have to set the camera up farther back than my old one, so it seems there is something of a natural zoom on it.Speaking of the zoom. It is a 100% digital zoom. There is no optical zoom on this device, so you will get pixelation as you zoom. Again not an issue for me since I'm shooting from close distances. Don't think this could record your kids soccer games and zoom in on him/her scoring the game winning goal. that isn't the purpose of this device. It comes with the standard camcorder accessories. All of which will probably stay in the box forever for me, as did all the accessories of my last camcorder (a Sony Handycam) and since this one records everything to SD card you just pull that as needed. The menu is easy to navigate. I never read instructions and it took me all of 15 seconds to figure out how to turn it on, get into it and intuitively start adjusting some settings. Oh and one thing I want to point out, I really like the flip cover for the input connections. Sony likes to use those bendy plastic hinges that suck, but this was a great alternative to that.Overall you can't beat this for the price. I'm extremely happy with the ease of use and quality is satisfactory for what I need as well.

Remote control doesn't work
I'm still testing out the camera since I received it today. It seems fine, but I am disappointed that the remote control doesn't work. The reason I chose this model was because I liked the idea of the remote control....I suppose I'm going to have to return it and try again.

Junk
Junk!! I wish I can give zero star. This product is most of the worse thing I've ever bought. the zoom is very horrible, it's very blurry when max zooming in. I could hear the click sound from the zoom button. The video quality is very most horrible, it's worse than the 480i. The battery is hard to install to the camcorder. After a few tries, I packed it up and return. Don't bother to buy this product anymore.

Worth it for the price, but you get what you pay for.
Just got this camera a couple of days ago and I've been using it nonstop to record home videos of my daughter. It's pretty nice. I mean, you get what you pay for. It's inexpensive and so the video quality isn't the best...but it'll do. It's completely fine for my needs. I wasn't in a position to spend a lot of money on a really nice camera but, if you are, I'd recommend doing that. However, if you're on a tight-ish budget then this is just fine. It's a touch screen, easily managed, just the right size, video camera that holds a charge well. You can also take still pictures with it. It comes with a couple of different cords (for tv hookup, charging, etc) and a remote control. I have yet to use the remote but I don't really have a need for it anyway.I've played around with the settings and it's just like I said: you get what you pay for.Four stars from me because the bottom line is that it's halfway decent and inexpensive. I would recommend this product to anyone not wanting to spend a real amount of money on a good camera.

Battery connection bad
Bearly used. Always kept in the house in its bag and now experiencing bad battery connection. Amazon isn't exactly user friendly trying to find warranty info on this camera.

Great value for your money!
I purchased this SEREE HDV-S5 Full HD 1080p 30fps Camcorder for a Christmas gift and before continuing I would like to say, I'm very particular on quality on everything I purchase and I can truthfully say that this review is my honest opinion on this item. After unpacking I took a good look and found this camera to be a Big Bang for your dollar as it small, light weight and great quality of workmanship. It comes with a nice case that has a belt loop to easy carry it with you and Velcro cover making for easy access to use. One very nice feature is the macro ability making this great for the close up shots and you can get different lens. Another nice feature is the 3" touch screen allowing ease of operation and a remote control that is included. I can't wait to see the happy face when this gets opened on Christmas morning " I have the battery fully charge" so when she opens it, it's ready to capture the joys of Christmas morning. I've already wanting to order another for myself and plan to very soon. I recommend this camera and if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them.
