Glow ParaPop 38" Portable Softbox with Bowens Mount Adapter

This is easy to assemble. Just note it may come with an adapter set to use with a speedlight. You will have to unscrew the adapter to make it work with a strobe.

I really like the size and speed of setup/tear down. However, I find the plastic hub warps and eventually breaks. You can replace it which I have done a few times but just moving to a metal ring would change this and move it to 5 stars for me.

Update to original review:After contacting Adorama customer service, they very willingly and helpfully resolved the issue. Was impressed with their attentiveness and communication. They really go the extra mile for customer satisfaction! I ended up with 2 other Glow EZ lock softboxes and I'm very pleased with the quality. While the Parapop may be easy to open and close, it is not the first choice for my needs as the plastic mechanism may not handle lots of take-downs and set-ups. With so many EZ lock softboxes, there's many other quality options for the job. Any of Glow's EZ lock softbox is made with stainless steel rods that can handle the wear and tear of on-location shoots. They're the best quality softboxes on the market, especially at their price range. My full-functioning mobile setup is owed to Adorama's affordable products.Don't hesitate to get one!!Previous review (shortened):As soon as I put the umbrella together, I wanted to attach my monolight and when I tried to change mounts the screws became stripped, so now it's stuck! When I pushed the trigger to collapse the softbox, one release button became stuck, now I cannot collapse the softbox. Really let down, normally Adorama is great!

I got the accessory for mounting on directly on the ad200 bulb. Super light weight and portable!

I opted to purchase these because the tension rod soft boxes were a pain to set up and break down. The idea of the product is amazing. However, the plastic rods that hold everything together keep falling out, and I"ve actually lost two rods now deeming this product worthless. Disappointing for having spent over $300 on two of these.

Item was OK

This is advertised as a 38 incher ... but it's only 36 inches according to my tape measure and my yard stick. Also, there is no "special aluminum alloy hybrid frame rods" it's all plastic and fiberglass. I'm surprised and disappointed that Adorama wouldn't even check the item to see if the description matches the product. Considering the SMDV 80cm version ... at least the seller sounded like they knew what they were talking about.

A bit pricey but nice. Wish they made a 48” and 60”John
