I'm Feeling Blue
My son used the blue BSA wheels on his recent pinewood derby car. While I believe the blue color has been discontinued by BSA, they are still legal for pinewood derby. One thing I noticed with these blue wheels was the uniformity in the molding of all the wheels. I know that the BSA has changed the molds for all of the wheels including black, but these had a nice look and feel to them from the start. Now if only the BSA wood ditch the nails in favor of a hinge pin or something! Even though my son did not take home any prize for speed, the blue color nicely complimented the design of his car. The actual color seemed a little bit darker than what was actually pictured.

Axles in these kits: Good. Wheels: not so much
The axles in these Revell kits are better and easier to polish than the actual BSA axles. They don't have the crimp marks or the flashing under the nail head. The wheels are not as good. These kits are made in China, and whatever they are using for molds just doesn't produce the same quality in the wheel. You can buy the Grand Prix actual made in the USA kits at the Scout store. I think they're 3.99 here for whatever color you want.I do recommend the axles from these kits, though. I've found it beneficial just to buy one of these kits for the axles, and throw the wheels away. These axles are just a better starting point, especially with a kid doing the polishing.

Son won 1st at district with these wheels
Great wheels! The nail has a smooth inner surface behind the head which is vital. The nail shaft was smooth and the wheels were all true. These are a must. My son won 1st place in his pack and took 1st place at district the other day ago.The stock wheels were terrible. The nail had barbs behind the nail which will make you lose for sure.

Good quaility wheel and axle set
The wheels and axles that are with the blocks our group orders aren't the best quality, so have been buying the Revell BSA Wheels and axles as a replacement for the cars my boys build. These are much better quality and gets 'oohs and aahs' because of the color...regardless of whether the car wins or not?!?

These are not made in the U.S.
Caution these are not made in the U.S. like other ones that are BSA stamped. Also they have a shine to them which might make them slick on the track compared to the U.S. made ones. They do have the BSA stamp so technically they should be legal to race under the rules? Not sure.

Pinewood derby excellent for all children all ages.
I had my boys (9 and 11) design their own pinewood derby car as a summer project. They learned about power tools, hand tools, aerodynamics, and design techniques. I bought these wheels to finish the project. These are good standard wheel and axle kits. Good price and fast shipping.
