Awesome daybed! I LOVE it!!
3 years ago I bought two daybeds. I got one white AVA daybed and a black one from another company (I don't remember what the name is. I'll just call it the "junk daybed"). The AVA white one has been wonderful! Never had a problem with it. It's sturdy, we never have to tighten it, it never squeaks. You can try to shake it and it barely moves. It's solid. The junk daybed, on the other hand, was a nightmare. In less than a year it started feeling very loose and was squeaky with even the slightest movement. We often had to tighten the screws and oil them to help stop the squeak. This junk daybed would literally sway from side to side. I even resorted to duct taping wood sticks to the legs to see if that would help if from shifting (more about those legs in a minute)...it didn't help. Well, last week I finally had enough and bought a 2nd AVA daybed, this time in black. I can't believe I waited so long to replace that other piece of junk!It took my daughter and I about an hour and a half to disassemble the junk daybed and put this new AVA one together (here's a tip....do not tighten the long bars too tight to the sides, or you'll have difficulty putting the end slats in). The only difference that I can see between the black that the white AVA is that our white one has a more "pitted" finish to the paint (not sure if that's the right word. It's very nice. But this was 3 years ago, and I can't tell from the pictures on Amazon if the white one they have is like that). The black one is more of a flat matte finish. It's equal to the white one in terms of being very sturdy. I know this new AVA daybed will not give me problems like the junk daybed we had. Here's what I've discovered when shopping for a daybed, and I hope this is helpful:1. Make sure you look at the back. I'm not sure if "back" is the right word, since it's really the side when you are lying on it. But if you were sitting on it like a couch, it would be the large arched back. Make sure the back is ONE piece and not two that need to be screwed together, like our junk daybed. If you settle on a daybed with a two piece back, the odds are high that you'll end with a junk daybed too. Being that the AVA has a one piece back, the box is HUGE...and heavy. I can't believe it was only $74.99 with FREE shipping!2. Even more importantly, look at the legs. The AVA legs attach right near the bar that the mattress sits on. This is hard to explain, but the bars connect to the two ends with multiple screws, and the legs attach directly below this. This makes it a very sturdy area for the legs to attach. Our junk daybed had legs that attached halfway down the leg. There was absolutely no support. So the lower part of the leg would shift in a different direction than the upper part of the leg. This made for an extremely unsturdy and wobbly bed. Look closely at the photos Amazon has. Look at the pictures of the white daybed (it's easier to see on the white one). Go to the 4th photo of what looks like a living room. Look at the front left leg and zoom in a little. You can see a horizontal "line" on the leg, right below the bar where the mattress sits. This is where the legs attach. If you look halfway down the leg, visualize that being where our junk daybed legs attached. You can probably figure out that the AVA would be much sturdier, because there's more support closer to the top of the leg where the bar is attached.I highly recommend this bed. I finally really do have sweet dreams!!

Awesome, sturdy and good looking day bed!
Very quick shipping, FedEx home delivery, arrived the next, ONE day since shipped! Everything just wonderful! Less than one hour (with opening parcel, reading instruction, breaks for coffee!) took me preparing for use. VERY easy assembling system, good instruction; imagine - though description calls for two-persons' work, I did it entirely by myself! When an old gal (close to her 70s...) is able to assemble the bed, then EACH ONE can accomplish such goal. Looks very nice, though I read that some customers got parts with wrong holes or had any problem with assembling - the item of mine is just perfect. Am very, VERY happy with this purchase, fast delivery and good quality of that bed. Did I mention the price? No? Well, the price is among the best parts of this deal ;-) If you need sturdy, good-looking day bed, go for it! I heartily recommend! Many thanks!

Real value on a handsome daybed.
An excellent product, sturdy, attractive and fairly easy to assemble. We've used it quite a bit as guest bed and for lounging and I think it'll hold up quite well. My only suggestion would be better weld on the frame but all in all this was a great buy at a great price.

Great bed, great price, fits a trundle!
The media could not be loaded. The bed package arrived just a few days ago in very good shape and within the time frame that was specified. All of the pieces needed to put the bed together were all included. Set up was super easy...directions were very clear. It only took about 20-30 minutes to put the bed together, with myself and my 16 yr old daughter. I am very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of this bed - which is currently being used by my two boys...an 11 yr old, and a pop up trundle underneath for my 6 yr old. A twin sized pop-up trundle fits underneath this bed easily with about 2-3 inches to spare. I would recommend this bed to anyone. Very pleased with the price and quality of this product. (I included a video review...sorry the volume isn't the greatest.)

Becomes squeaky and unstable
Worked well for about 6 months before things started to go wrong. The legs began to wobble, and would not fully tighten to remain sturdy. The screws became stripped when I tried to stabilize the legs. Also, the squeaking is so loud, it can be heard from another room if the person sleeping shifts around. So sad this did not work out long term. The set up was easy, and the look is fantastic.

Great daybed
Construction was better than expected and the bed was quite rigid when assembled. I greatly appreciated the extra plastic pieces included as I broke two by being too aggressive when placing the slat clips in place. The assembly guide said not to initially tighten all the bolts, but the instruction WHEN they wanted them tightened was not stated- but not a major issue. The trundle that we already owned fits perfectly underneath.

Looks good
Arrived on time, easy to assemble, two people would be best but one person can do it. It is very solid.

Looks great but very cheap and wobbly! Buy something else.
This bed looks great! And that’s where the good review ends. This bed was so hard to put together since the pre-drilled holes didn’t exactly align. And after a month of so of my 7-year-old son sleeping on it, it started to get squeaky and shaky. We tightened the screws and after a week, again! My son says he won’t sleep on it because he can’t get in and out of it. This bed is so poorly made, you can’t do anything to fix the wobbliness. Yes it was cheap but it should last more than a few months! I am asking for my money back, this product is awful. Go buy something else.
