The Original Toy Company My First Matryoshka Nesting Doll

My 18 month old granddaughter loves these dolls. I bought them for her when she was about a year old because she wanted to play with my mother's gorgeous Matryoshka dolls from Russia (no... not for teething babies!). She mastered the smallest doll easily, and now manages all four dolls with ease. She always looks for them when she visits, and doll was one of her first words when she pointed to the dolls. They are colorful and she is able to fit them together now. She has discovered she can make a bit of am awful squeak when twisting them just the right way, which she does with a big smile. The only reason I gave this product a four is because they are made of a very hard plastic. I understand it might be necessary in order to twist the two parts together easily, but the baby throws them sometimes ("ball, ball?"). I am afraid the edge will chip when it hits a hard surface like my hardwood floors or ceramic tile. So far, so good, but I do check them over regularly. Even so, I am going to purchase a set for my niece's baby, too.

I really like these so does my five year old. We ordered them for our baby who can't play with them. I have noticed when my five year old plays with them that they don't really stay together that well and that they are kind of tricky to get them to snap together just right. I'm thinking they will be difficult for the baby. Other than that they're great. I think it's a very clever idea and we love all things Russian in our house.

Too big for little hands to open. Awkward for young a child to open and close.

Quality toy set with vibrant colors

Very Cute! I bought this as a Christmas gift, so am not sure how they have held up, but they are adorable, colorful and sweet and seemed to be a nice quality toy!
