Q: How many pieces? Assembly time? Skill level? Glue needed? Paint needed?

No glue or paint needed, although you could paint it after completion if you prefer. You only need needlenose pliers, I would recommend two pairs to manipulate and bend pieces. The kit comes with either one or two thin sheets of metal; you remove about 30 pieces from the sheet. This is a moderately difficult kit, the engines are tricky to bend into round pieces. It seems like the P-51 Mustang, Wright flyer, and AT-AT were a little bit easier as starters. Still a very fun and satisfying project, should take an afternoon even for a beginner.
