There isn't a sound hole since its an acrylic Kalimba

Which shape is the easiest to hold with respect to finger span while playing?

That’s actually something I can’t answer for you. Your hands are going to be different than mine. I haven’t tried other shapes. I can tell you that I did get this teddy bear/tiger one and I’m able to use it just fine. I’m an adult and 5’8”. I don’t have any issues with holding it and I’m able to retire the tines. The only thing I can suggest is to go ahead and get it and see if it’s comfortable for you if not, then return it.

Will all of the items, besides the kalimba fit in the case?

The hammer will fit in the case but I would highly recommend putting it in some type of velvet bag so that it does not scratch the kalimba. I was very happy with my purchase and ended up buying another. Hope this helps!
