I bought the splitter directly from the manufacturer 4 about 1,800. They are on sale now for about 1400. Same engine as the chinese-made Honda. Very good engine. I have the life on Motors on a couple of different pieces of Machinery. They've held up very well. Not sure why they are so expensive here but this is splitter can plow right through a dry 12 inch diameter piece of Oak full of knots even with the cross wedge and barely slowed down. Built like a tank.

I have been splitting wood for over 17 years, and I have to say, this splitter is not what it's cracked up to be, first off they send you the wrong fittings for the hydraulics, then after splitting 3 times about 15 min's each I noticed that the bottom of the cylinder now have a paint crack all the way around the cylinder, and now leaking fluid everywhere.Do your research and move on to a better and more durable splitter.I probably won't get my money back as I have found that they like to justle you around and you never get answers nor the warranty that they supposedly talk about.Save your money and go else where

I purchased this log splitter three years ago and it runs like a champ. You can get easily through knotty hard wood. I don't think you can find a better log splitter for the price. Many of the parts are the exact same as Honda motors. I would recommend this splitter to anyone who is looking for an affordable alternative to other more expensive brands.
