Not the newest but just what I wanted.
I had this exact microwave for years and love it. There is no light when you open it, just when it is running. That was something I got used to. I realize they have 'inverter' ones now, but I really wanted the same model since my older folks and I were used to how it works. After searching and seeing a post with a photo, I ordered it. The microwave did come sooner than announced, can't complain about that. Plug it in and works great so far. My older one started the clock count down but the motor and turn table didn't move unless I tapped the counter or held the top of the door shut tight. So not sure if it was just unbalanced or wanting to retire. It's simple to use and if it is anything like the old model, it should be reliable.

Great value in a mid-sized microwave from a company with horrific customer service
I purchased this microwave via Amazon's Warehouse Deals as "used - like new". It was described as pristine with "damaged packaging". It arrived in an unscathed manufacturer's box that had apparently never been opened. One of the small plastic "feet" had cracked during shipping and fell out -- I was able to reinsert it to keep the oven level and will contact Panasonic about a replacement. I spent days researching microwaves that were over 1000 watts, but still priced well and I am very happy that I found this one.The unit I purchased is white. VERY white. It's a bit of an eyeshock to me, as it's replacing a stainless steel model. But, for the over $60 price difference (at the time) between the warehouse deal unit and a stainless steel unit, I have learned to like white. The white has advantages: the display panel is easier to read and it's easier to see that it's clean. I really like the large display. The clock was easy to set and it is now my "go to" kitchen clock because it's large and easy to read.I have it set up on a wood-topped microwave cart. To minimize any "scooting" or slippage I cut a piece of spongy webbed "drawer liner" ($1 at the local dollar store) and placed it under the unit, covering the wood top. It absorbs sound and the microwave stays in place. I cut a second piece for the top of the unit -- so whatever I put on top won't scrape/scar the paint. It is larger outside than the 12 year old Panasonic I am replacing (which finally decided to move on to an existence of being nothing more than a 30 pound storage box with a 23 second timer), yet smaller inside. However the interior is sufficient for my needs (thankfully I have no plans to nuke a whole bird turkey) . The units have similar controls, BUT the newer one doesn't have my oft used "beverage" shortcut key. I find this very annoying. It makes me grumpy to have to push buttons numerous times to warm the milk for my cafe con leche (latte). The seven sensor modes are "hidden" in one button called "sensor". My old unit had a 1 minute quick key. This unit has a 30 second one. I prefer the one minute -- and would prefer it more so now that the beverage shortcut is absent. Whoever decided upon the shortcut keys must not spend much time in a real household: bring back beverage! The unit purrs. It's VERY quiet. No weird noises. The turntable operates smoothly. The door opens easily (make sure your unit is level!). The push buttons are a bit annoying: the area that actually registers your touch is tiny compared to the number/writing. So if you don't manage to touch that exact "sweet spot" you'll stand there jabbing the button like a fool until it registers. All in all it will save me less time than my old unit because of the delays in operating the controls and the decrease in wattage (I went from 1300 to 1100). But, the pricepoint was excellent here on Amazon (as in I lucked into a seriously excellent bargain -- at the same pricepoint in a brick and mortar retailer I would only be able to purchase a tiny, no-name, generic, underpowered microwave). So the trade-off is okay for me.This is my third Panasonic microwave. The first one I purchased in 1979 and was still working when someone decided to throw it out last year because it was a monolith (I am still not happy about it being dumped out). My second was purchased in 2005. With any luck I will get at least 5 years of use out of this one -- which will be a great value for the money I spent.Oh, and there being no light when I open the door is only a minor inconvenience. My last Panasonic microwave didn't light up when I opened the door either. The all white interior of this one keeps it light enough for me. I'm not into the habit of stealth microwaving in the dark (is that now a thing?), and if I was I'd just use a small LED light or nightlight anyway.Update HORRIFIC Lack of Customer Service from Panasonic: Getting a replacement plastic "foot" is impossible. Panasonic has almost non-existent customer service now. You are not "allowed" to speak to a live rep via telephone (the computer hangs up on you after telling you that you must use the website to "chat" with a rep). I waited over five minutes to be connected. I finally got a rep and explained what I needed. The rep replied (after I explained I needed replacement feet that were damaged in shipping): "How may I assist you"? I asked her to scroll up and read what I already wrote. She refused. Then it went like this:Me : can you read?Unhelpful Rep: no!Uhm. Okay. So I explained it again. She insisted that I ship the microwave back for "repair". WTF? All I need is a small plastic "foot" (which if it had been made of silicone or rubber rather than cheap plastic wouldn't have broken in the first place). So instead of sending me the replacement part (I can't imagine this would have been more than $3 between the part and shipping) she kept telling me I had to box up the microwave and return it. I then contacted Amazon. Amazon doesn't have a way to make Panasonic do the reasonable thing, so I had the option of returning the microwave or accepting a refund to cover the broken part. I took the refund. Amazon, as always, knows how to provide customer service. On the other hand, I will not purchase another Panasonic product -- I don't like dealing with companies that only provide customer DISservice.

I feel like I am getting the run around, something I have never experienced with Amazon before.
I am having a problem with my Panasonic microwave and no one is helping me to return it. I expected to be able to return it to Amazon as defective because it has started to make weird noises whenever I try to use it. I have become scared to use it. And, it is all I have to cook with besides the toaster.

DANGER!!! FIRE HAZARD! Don’t buy! After a year, it now doesn’t stop microwaving after time ends!
This microwave is horrible! I rote this part a month ago but see my update below: We’ve had this microwave for about 15 months now. It heats things fine. It’s not overly noisy as it runs or with it’s beeping. BUT the buttons!! OMG, they drive me insane. So there’s only three things a microwave user has to do: insert food, push the buttons, close/open the door. I use the microwave all the time and step 2 is maddening! The buttons are made to appear touch sensitive but they’re actually push buttons. Push buttons are fine, I like push buttons,, but I like push buttons where there’s a BUTTON. Every single time I use this microwave, I have to push so hard on every button (every number, every reset, every start/stop) that my finger shakes and bends. I even tried putting puffy stickers on them to make sure we push directly on the button and it doesn’t help. You have to be exactly in the middle of each button and push HARD to get a response. I’m about ready to throw the thing in the creek and get a different one. Didn’t they have their people test this with regular use first? I’m guessing not.UPDATE—- DANGER!!Now this microwave has added a new feature. It’s been experimenting with it for about a month. When it’s done microwaving, it doesn’t stop zapping! It’s scary and dangerous. It doesn’t sound right and at first we thought maybe there is a fan issue but after several times of not getting our coffee out immediately (after warming for the same amount of time we usually do) then coming to get a minute later and finding it boiling (or boiling over), we realized it’s still microwaving! Unplugging it then plugging it back in worked at first but not now. The only thing that makes it stop microwaving is leaving the door open. It’s crazy! And SO DANGEROUS! It could start a fire doing that! And hopefully it’s not microwaving us too! It’s extra loud now whenever we close the door. I tell the kids to stay away from it.
