Chicago Metallic Professional 6-Piece Creme Brulee Set with 4 Porcelain Ramekins, 8-inch Square Pan and Wire Rack

I received this Chicago Metallic 6-Piece Set just in time for Mother’s Day, and it was such a treat. My daughter used it to surprise me with homemade Crème Brûlée, and they turned out absolutely incredible. The set came with an 8-inch square pan, the wire rack, and 4 ramekins all designed to fit together and made the "water bath" (bain-marie) process so much easier and safer. No more sliding ramekins around in a random roasting pan. The ramekins are beautiful and sturdy. They held the heat evenly, which is key for getting that perfect, silky custard texture without curdling. Because the rack keeps the ramekins elevated and secure so they don't touch the bottom of the pan, which made lifting them out of the hot water so much easier once they were finished baking. The cleaning was also simple with no staining or sticking. Overall a great gift!

Perfect for making creme brulee, pots de creme, custard, mini cheesecakes, etc. Well-made and not to big to store in my small kitchen.

I absolutely love my set of 4 ramekins! I came to find out the right ramekins are absolutely crucial to make this dessert. Very good quality. I love the steel frame which holds the ramekins and allows to bathe them in boiling water to avoid burning the custard as it is baking!

Easy cleaning, easy baking. Product feel solid and well built.Did not come with ready-to-eat creme brulee. Had to make my own, though it came out perfectly.Can't make enough creme brulee fast enough~

The pan is fine. Doubles as a brownie pan or water pan for bread. The ramekins are like any other ramekin and work just as good as any other. 4oz by fluid volume will bring it right up to inner rim. The rack which holds the ramekins hasn’t warped but I’ve only used it to make crème brûlée once. The ramekins also don’t sit “perfect” inside the rack as they can still be crooked.Good price - ✔️Does what it says - ✔️Good portion size for dessert - ✔️

This set is fantastic. A bit about me...I like to cook and bake a whole variety of things, but I'm not a professional by any means. Here's my assessment:Pros:1. The ramekins are a standard size for the majority of the recipes I've seen on various cooking websites, so you won't have to adjust the recipes to fit the 4 ramekins. You won't make too much or too little. It's just right :).2. The pan, wire rack, and ramekins fit together nice and snug like they're supposed to, so it's good quality engineering.3. I believe that this set up actually helps you avoid sloshing water into the ramekins. I did a test with this set and a single ramekin in another pan of water. I found that I had to be a lot more careful with the other pan to avoid getting water in the ramekin, but I was able to do it. You can just be a little quicker with the wire rack in place.4. After the above experiment, I also realized that it's much easier to remove the ramekins from the water pan using the rack handles than it is to remove the hot ramekins with kitchen mitts. Again, it's not like it's impossible to remove the ramekins without the rack, but it certainly makes it easier.Cons:1. I'd recommend that Chicago sell the ramekins and wire rack separately without the pan, since most people already have an 8x8" pan. Or, for those of us that already had ramekins, they should offer the wire rack by itself rather than buy the whole set.If you really like to make creme brulee and have the space in your kitchen, I definitely recommend buying this product. It simplifies the baking process enormously, and isn't THAT expensive. I actually bought a second one since I only seem to cook for 2 or 6-8! If you only make creme brulee once in a long while, or you have limited space in your kitchen, it's probably not worth it, but I'm extremely happy with this set.

I love this pan. I use it every time I make crème brûlée. I love that the ramekins sit in a frame. The only thing missing is if they had made some kind of marking on the pan for the water bath level. But I solved that by drawing a line using a permanent marker so I wouldn’t have to think about it every time I use the pan.

Being Chicago Metallic, it’s a well made product.It’s perfect for a small household, being 4 cups. For a 1 or 2 person household it easy to make half recipes. The size of each cup is perfect too.For the longest use, it is best to hand wash all parts. The metal pan and rack should only need rinsing off and drying.
