Yes this mouse will work on a mac.

Can you tap on the mouse to click like you can on a touchpad, without having a physical click?

Yes, for both left and right click. Also there is no scroll wheel so if you put your finger in the middle (where one usually is) and drag it, it will scroll like a regular mouse. There’s also gestures you can do with your fingers (when you setup Logitech software you can customize or learn them), you don’t have to use them if you don’t want to.

What do you mean by renewed?

It was not new! It didn't work!

Does the function work in Tab S6?

I have not tried connecting this mouse to an android device / tab so I'm not sure. But I would think connection is not a problem I'm just not sure if all the functions and features of the mouse will work even if connected. Also, the Tab S6 already comes with an S Pen and I presume you are using a keyboard with touchpad so I don't know if you still need a mouse. It is a fantastic mouse though. I have been using one for the past 3 years and it broke when coffee was accidentally spilled on it. I could have bought any other bluetooth mouse to replace it but I really like this particular mouse so I bought the same one again.
