Maple Flavored Sausage Patty MRE Meal - Genuine US Military Surplus Inspection Date 2020 and Up

I ordered this because I have a strange fascination with mres in general. I developed this after watching lots of SteveMRR1989Info(sub to him) and I have had these many times before. I have had the chili and beans, which was good, spaghetti and meatballs, which were fine, and the chili and macaroni, which is one of my favorites. This one however was a pleasant surprise, because I expected it to be bad but it was actually really good. Muffin top is basically a pancake, sausage patty tasted like McDonald’s, almonds were almonds, and the drinks were good. It also had the manufacturing printed on, and the date was in 2018 so it was fresh. Very impressed

I ordered the pork sausage patty, maple flavored, menu 17. I've had quite a few MRE's and I have to admit that this was my absolute favorite so far. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. Personally I'm not a big fan of eating sausage without some form of bread or something to take away from the powerful taste so I put some of the syrup on the muffin top and patty and then put the muffin top on top of the patty and dug into it together and it was amazing. The order was scheduled to arrive on August 14th at the earliest and I got it on the 12th (which was a Sunday) so I was very excited about that, highly recommend menu 17 and I highly recommend using this vendor for any purchase you make of an MRE.

Nothing much to add, a solid product. I ordered three and they were jammed in an envelope. I've opened one already and part of the FRH (Flameless Ration Heater had torn and the heating powder had leaked out. That being said the item still heated up exactly as needed so it wasn't a real issue beyond the grey residue on the packet. I don't know the condition of the other two yet but if similar condition I don't forsee any problems. Plan on purchasing from this company again.

Arrived fairly quickly and in good shape. No packing date on outside package, but I opened one and all items are dated December 2014 thru mid January 2015, so it looks like it was packed in January 2015. This means it is about 2-1/2 years old. This is not bad but I would not store it for an emergency years down the road. It was nice to be able to choose the Menus I wanted.. You can find them cheaper but rarely can you choose the menus you want.I will update my review after I eat it, but even the cheese spread feels soft and in good shape.

Tastes ok price high

It was ok for the most part but smelled like cat food.

My son is a army nut. For his 11th birthday we got him this . He liked the sausage but found it very sweet and that's saying a lot from him.The pack was easy to heat up, and the rest of the food was great. Thier was lots in thier.
