Its the Alton Brown Salt thingie
Too cool. Every now and then, there is a tool which has many, many uses beyond its intended design. This one is built sturdy and it looks great. I've used this for sugar at first, and then my yummy sea salt (the current use). Because of Mr. Brown, I use salt religiously and even had to tone it down cuz my wife said I was using too much. The only drawback to this type of salt dispenser is that you will get everything clumpy - I taped a little cloth packet of rice to the top to prevent drying and caking - because the anti-caking stuff in most salt adds a slightly weird flavor (or maybe its just me).

Stainless Steel Salt Server
Received quickly, New in Box, Beautiful Product, better than shown. We use it for coarse cooking salt and have it right by the stove. Don't really need the spoon but what a sweet addition. Love this product and would recommend. Easy Flip Up top is great when you have messy or wet hands. Great seller, thank you for your promptness.

Love This Sugar Bowl
This is the cutest sugar bowl. We've had it for over a year, and it has worked well. The only con is that it does not seal. There is a gap between the hinge and the bowl. I live in dry San Diego, so that's not a problem, but it would be if you lived in a humid region. It comes apart easily to wash—I only wash it by hand. It can also be used for other food items, but to me, it's sugar bowl size. I have a smaller glass & stainless steel set that I use for salt and pepper. I also purchased that set on Amazon.com.

Really Nice.
These are great for Grated Cheese and Salt etc. Just consider this. If you use this for salt humidity will be a major problem. So if your salt shaker gets a lot of condensation you can always add a few grains of Rice but not with this. The Top is not air tight so it is not a good idea to store anything in these for an extended period of time.I use one for Sugar daily but that is it. The other ones I use only when I have dinner guests. One I use for Sea Salt , one for crushed Red Pepper and the other for Cheese.

Works great,
Saw this on the show Good Eats and had to try it. Now have two. One for salt and one for pepper. Works very well with this kind of handle that lets you pick it up. There is another type that has a short straight handle that is hard to pickup with one hand. You don’t have that problem with this one. Highly recommend.

We Like It
Nice little salt cellar. I bought this for my husband for his larger grain kosher salts. I bought it based on an Alton Brown recommendation. We're happy with it. It looks nice sitting on the counter, holds a fair amount, and seems to be a really good quality.

Not great.
Overall, I don't like this item. It looks good. I've been using it for about three weeks now. I cook a lot, so I wanted something that I could open and close one-handed. The handle is comfortable for me to hold. It's got a tab on the lid which is used to flip the lid open and closed. I can open it one-handed (which I like) but when I try to close it one-handed, the lid gets stuck on the lip of the glass container. It's annoying. When I'm cooking, I find that I don't want to use the salt cellar because it takes two hands to close the lid. I have to push the glass container away and up from the lid in order for it to fit properly and to close. Salt spills out if it's too full when trying to close. Here's a picture of what happens to the lid when I close it one-handed (sorry the picture is sideways).
