Order in season
The kids love watching the ants making their tunnels. The first order of ants came all dead. It was in the summer when it was 90 degrees in our area. I waited until fall and the ants came alive and well. It was easy to put together for my 13 year old grandson.

Ants dead . Never came to life
All ants were dead on arrival, temperatures have been 100 + , no cooling provided.I still listened to the instructions and thought maybe I was wrong but after 24hrs , they are dead.My son is torn over this due to this being the last part of his ant farm !

I love my ants!
My ants always came alive, I live in Southern Maine so sometimes they were a little cold, and appeared to be dead, but they came right to life. it is the most interesting thing how fast they work together to make amazing tunnels. I have plastic tubes, connecting different habitats, I’ve used gel, sand and artificial sand. The gel they spent almost 2 weeks, and they did nothing to it. I do not recommend it at all. The sand less than six hours and they got a nice full tunnel.UPDATE 4/27/24Just recently I purchased more ants…I had 2 ants still alive from the last order. That is months of life. I was told they only live 2 weeks to 1 month in these ant habitats. They are just so cool to watch how they work together, they work non-stop! Tunnels inches long with in 4 hours of then actually starting. You won’t regret buying these ants from seller. My ants always come alive and ready to work.Even in Maine winters these guys came alive!

Disappointed
The life cycle items are really nice. No instruction on how to use the food. All the ants were dead and dried out

Good Ants!
Out of 50 ants only 5 or 6 were dead on arrival. They’re very active and larger size so easier for the kids to watch.

They arrived dead
I bought the ants for my 8 year old to put in his ant farm. However, half of them was dead upon arrival and its been 24 hours and they keep dying off.

These Ants are Tough
Arrived a day late with no heat pack in winter. Two tiny plastic tubes where jam packed with ants to the point they couldn't walk at all. They surprisingly arrived 99% alive. Brought them up to room temp over the course of an hour then slowly raised the temp to 82F. Lost about 5 over the next few days. I would skip ordering in extreme temps as they are shipped ground and with zero care in heating or cooling of package.

ANT-tastic!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My daughter got an ant farm and we ordered ants from another company. It took almost 2 weeks for them to arrive and when they did, all but five were dead. We live in Texas so finding a time when it wasn't too hot was tricky. We found these ants on Amazon and they would arrive in 2 days so we took our chances. I'm happy to report that most of the ants survived and are alert and active. Do be very careful when handling them though. Definitely put them in the fridge for 10 minutes and be ready to put them in your ant farm as soon as they're out of the fridge. We are excited and hopeful to enjoy watching these little critters!
