Pluses and Minuses
I've actually had my MP3450 for a couple years now, but I did purchase it here on Amazon. Overall, I'm happy enough with it to keep it. I've used it with all of the following devices:* Dell Netbook* HP Netbook* MacBook (regular, not pro)* Asus ZenbookPros:* supplies power from 5V to 19V, covering most laptops, netbooks and tablets* EXCELLENT and prompt customer service from Tekkeon's technical support (use email instead of phone, they respond better that way)* large variety of tips available for many, many devices* will power my ultrabook for 5 hoursCons:* Charging process is finicky and unintuitive, hard to know when battery is fully charged* AC adapter is unnecessarily bulky, easily as large as the battery* Many common laptops (Dell, Asus, etc.) require the purchase of additional tips ($3 per tip + shipping)Overall, if I needed to buy another external battery, I'd look around but might end up with another Tekkeon. At least I know it works, and I can get support on it.

In love. Tekkeon is my go to source for portable power.
I am a tech junkie. I use this battery to charge my tablet, laptop and other portable devices on the go. As well as being a battery for charging this is also a great power supply. I get 12 hours of playtime running Altec Lansing Expressionist speakers. I feel that some of the other reviewers neglect to realize that care comes into play with lithium ion batteries. My suggestion is researching the things you buy, and being more proactive when it comes to faulty equipment. The customer service team at tekkeon is amazingly understanding and easy to work with on most problems. They sent me a free adapter once just because I told them they suggested the wrong one.In one sentence the MP3450 charges and/or powers every (not a joke) device I own. It runs a 12V DC/AC inverter with a 30 watt fluorescent for 3 hours. It charges my tablet and keyboard dock once each with a charge(though i don't like to deep cycle my battery as it diminishes the amount of charge cycles). I get 3 hours of runtime on my laptop. With the car adapter I can play and charge my PS Vita for hours. 24 hours with a 20 LED usb light. This is a great backup for all kinds of situations, especially winter preparedness. Don't believe the naysayers.

Great when it works but not repairable and died after three years
The first year I would have given it five stars but just shy of three years and it doesn't hold a charge for anything. Batteries don't last forever and I could roll with the fact that these only worked for three years, but then I expect to be able to replace the batteries. Talked to tekkeon and they don't service and don't sell parts so you are SOL.I'm going to open the thing up and see if I can find a replacement battery on the WEB.But at $50 or so a year this thing is pretty pricey. I won't be buying more from them, nor recommending them in the future.

Short Term Fix
I bought this device in July of 2010. In July of 2011, just out of warranty, the device ceased to function as a battery. Despite showing full charge, after about 5 minutes of acting as a backup battery it would go dead- completely, utterly dead with no revival short of plugging it into the wall, which defeats the whole purpose. So now it only works when plugged in. This in effect makes it a very bulky AC/DC adapter, one which takes a bit to set up at that. I no longer can use it for its intended purpose, that is extending the "away from an outlet" run time of my laptop.Furthermore, not long after purchase I was contacted by Tekkeon with a notice that some of these units were getting hot enough to catch fire and mine may be subject to recall. I had to call in with my serial number (which they had prior to contact through online registration) only to be told mine wasn't one of the units recalled. I'm fine with that, except that even the non-recalled units apparently get pretty hot if mine is any indication. In other words, unless you want a bulky, tempermental, and burn-your-lap hot AC/DC adapter I wouldn't recommend this product. 2 stars only because it did work as advertised for a year.

Not reliable
I had problems with this unit from the beginning. It never worked as advertised and now it is completely dead. There are too many other good external battery options available. Don't buy this one.Pros: One of the few external batteries that will power a laptopCons: Most likely it won't work when you need it.

Don't buy
I had several problems with this battery. It would die very quickly, so I sent it in under warranty. When I got a new one, I had faith that maybe the problem was gone, so I naively purchased the add-on battery that should've doubled the life. It didn't, so I again got a new set of batteries, with poor results. Now, my TWO batteries that are running parallel can only charge my phone 1 1/2 times before dying. What a croc.

Very nice battery, but ...
I've had one of this batteries (R2 versionĀ Tekkeon myPower ALL Plus MP3450, Provides up to 19V to Power and/or Charge Laptops and other Devices ) and after some time it just died becoming a dead 'brick'. Had that replaced under warranty (Tekkeon was very forthcoming in the process), but the second died too after warranty finally expired. It's a pitty because the product idea is very neat and when it does work the battery is just great. Maybe the R3 is a more reliable product evolution, however I cannot recomend it because the price-to-quality ratio is too low at this time. One last thing to mention: I originally bought this battery to use it as an external charger to one of my Nikon flashes, but through testing I found that the battery is not capable of handling the amperage required for the initial charging cycle of the flash.
