Does this help keep slime out of a inflatable pool?

We use the chlorine tablets in our above ground pool that has a liner and these are safe for it. To remove slime you need either a clarifier or shock

How do people stop these from getting sucked into the skimmer?

I don’t have any problem with this. If your skimmer opening is large enough for the floater to get sucked into it, either your skimmer opening is way much larger than mine or your water level is too low.

I closed the pool 11 days ago. Now we have a heat wave coming. Should I put this under the mesh cover for chlorine protection from algie.
