MSI Vortex... worth it ?
Performance is great for the 1700 dollar range, especially for the small size.I purchased the Vortex model with the single 1070 graphics card and I am using Acer Predator x34 monitor at 3440x1440 100hz, and for most games I am getting an average of 95 fps some can dip as low as 80 fps and spikes up to 120. Doom gets over 100 fps average.I am pleased with the overall performance.Noise:The noise level isn't that bad to be compared to my older rig that I built.Should you buy:If you haven't ever built a computer before and you are trying to decide between a custom built PC and the Vortex, I would say that you can learn a lot from building your own PC. If that is not the case, I would say this computer is worth it. I like it more than the corsair one.If you just need something that is small and powerful and made for gaming, this is a good choice.

Doesn't work for VR (Oculus Rift)
UPDATE: After using this PC for a few months, I finally decided to get the Oculus Rift. In summary, It doesn't work. PC restarts as soon as I start playing graphic intensive games on the Rift. Seems to be happening to others as well, this major flaw negates everything I said earlier. This PC is advertised as VR Ready, that is false._________________HERE IS MY OLD REVIW _______________________I've built my own gaming computers in the past, but couldn't find something with this small form-factor, stunning looks and strong performance that I could build on my own. I'm a bit past spending time tinkering and wanted an entire package that just worked, this product delivered that and even more. I think it's well worth the money vs. building one on my own. Here are a few highlights:- Extremely quiet: With normal operation, the only way to tell it's running is by putting my ear right next to it. It's surprisingly quiet. When I'm playing a graphics intensive game, it's still reasonably quiet and you can also control the fan settings via software. In max settings, it's no louder than a PS4.- Very compact form factor: This is one of the main reasons why I bought the Vortex G65 and it's like nothing I've ever seen. It fits really well in my compact desk overall (see photos).- Stunning looks: This is simply the best looking gaming PC I've seen. I have most LEDs on the case off so it doesn't scream gaming PC. I actually want to show off it's futuristic / stealth looks.- Solid performance: I was expecting trade-offs for this small form-factor, but I haven't found any. If I were building a custom PC, I'd pay only a bit less for a similar setup, but it would be way louder, way bigger and I'd have to spend much more time actually building and maintaining it. For me, spending a little more money for this is completely worth it.- Tinkering is optional / upgrade-able: This has been a great product experience end-to-end without having to get my hands dirty with tinkering with the hardware or software. If you do want to tinker, you can absolutely upgrade any of the core components or overclock it.I hope this was helpful!Hugo

Vortex G65VR-082 Desktop
Recieved Vortex G65VR-082 4 days ago. It replaced msi laptop GT72 6QE(Dominator Pro G) on top of my my desk that was set up like a desktop, external 120mhz g-sync monitor and corsair external mouse and keyboard so the vortex setup was a breeze, simply unplugged every thing on the lap top and plugged every thing into the desk top, took less than 5 min and I was ready to boot, with 2x the pc desk space I had before. The vortex is taller and about 1/2 as wide as the lap top.The lap top did skip a frame every now and then playing the division but it's been a good pc. The vortex has not missed a beat, smooth as glass, just as I expected. The more powerful the pc, the easier they are to operate. The 2 display ports and 2 thunder bolt, and 4 usb 3.0, all on the back but easy to get to since the vortex is so small.I like the msi lap top so much I ordered this desk top without even looking around, why waste time window shopping when you already know msi is quality and performance AND OWNING ONE MAKES YOU VERY HAPPY. 5 STARS

Excellent so far faster than expected.Three months later- NO GOOD! Constantly crashing within minutes. Reset entire PC, reloaded windows, starts up fine then crashes again constantly within minutes. At a loss don’t know what is wrong. Power supply? Motherboard? Help!Solution is working: I took the fan off auto and set to run high with the MSI dragon center app, and the crashing has stopped!

Not for VR
This is my first MSI, I gotta say, I'm impressed. I bought this computer for Oculus Rift. My configuration is i7-6700K with 64GB RAM, 512GB SSD with 1TB HDD, GTX 1080. this might looks a little pricy, but you get a small form factor PC you can put aside your TV in the living room. So far, I'm very satisfied with the performance. The computer is very quiet. Much quieter than the ASUS ROG CB20 I used before. So if you want something with your VR and want a small and quest, this is the one to go! I will update after a few weeks for anyone interested.Update: I've returned the computer. Bought this one for VR, yet this computer is not fully compatible. I'm using Oculus Rift with touch, the head set does not pass any video during set up process. Only orange light flashing on the head set. Tried to reinstall the system, the oculus software, GTX 1080 driver, different ports. Nothing works, I even ask BB to exchange the headset, same thing. My guess is the GTX 1080 in the Vortex is not desktop version but a laptop version, and they managed to rewire the HDMI port. So the HDMI port was not "directly" from the graphic card which is required by Oculus. Also, the 2 USB ports on the left of the machine was not able to power the sensor of the Oculus, you must use the right 2 USB 3 ports to get correct sensor signal. Again, MSI not using full USB 3.0 here. They managed to fit such a powerful set up in a tiny form factor is amazing. But I think you should fully aware of the compromises.
