I think it can. You can adjust to have one gumball or two gumballs come out so I think a few jelly beans will come out for each turn

Does the adjustable wheel allow for the plastic acorn containers?

This is designed for the smaller gumballs so the acorn containers would not fit.

If it dont come with a key how do you get your money out?

Some models have a twist top to remove where one might use a key. Others machine's coins are removed by disassembling bottom retainer when reservoir is empty
