I bought these little magnets to replace one I lost from one of those battery-run self-stirring mugs. Turns out the size is bigger than the original, so it stirs more vigorously, but it works.

If you get a magnetic stirrer, be very careful placing the magnet back on the base for storage. If the poles are misaligned that little white pill will go flying. It took me 3 days to find it the first time it happened. The second time it happened I swear I was being careful, I looked for 2 days and decided it would be wise to have more the one stir bar and that's how I ended up here. Now, I'm not going to say these are the greatest stir bars of all time, but I still haven't found the one I lost, and I haven't lost one of these...yet

The stir plate stirrers come as pictured, and don't have the annoying ridge in the middle of the bar. I have several stir plate mixers, and the ones with the ridge in the middle are very loud.
