Is this capo strong enough to hold down all of the strings on the first fret of an electric guitar?

Yes, it has a strong grip, and easily holds down all the strings on the first fret, on my electrics and acoustics (fretboard curve 9.5 on all of mine). I do tend to use light strings, but it'll definitely work on 9 gauge, 10 gauge, 11 gauge.
