These cooling scarves do cool. But, they take longer to absorb water and puff up than stated. How long, I’m not sure. Left it in water for about 30 mins and they hadn’t done much. Left the house and came back 3-4 hours later and they had absorbed tons of water and were puffed up nicely and we’re very cooling.Yes, the fabric is wet. Yes, if your clothing touches the wet cooling scarf your clothing will become damp or wet. But if the temp is 102 like it is here today having a damp collar is better than passing out. I have used a product similar to these and they really help.I have never washed my older ones in the washer. I was afraid they would come apart and the cooling gel beads would mess up my washer. I wash them by hand with bar soap and put them outside in the sun to dry. It takes 2-3 days for the beads to dry out and become hard again. I never put mine in the dryer.

Some of the items didn’t have very good bead distribution or equal amounts of beads among each item. Otherwise, works as described.

With the record breaking heat wave we've had I was so excited to receive these neck cooling items. When they arrived I followed instructions and soaked it in ice water. I put around my neck and within 2 minutes it was back to room temperature. First off, the beads that expand with water are so few and far between, second, it's so tiny and thin that it must be for a child or small dog.

Work good and could afford to hand out freely.

Great idea but falls short of intent, to keep cool. There are not enough beads inside to go completely aground the scarf. Because of this, the scarf coolness lasts about 10 minutes.

These are good for me. I soak them in a bowl of water for 20 or so minutes and put them in the freezer. It’s 118 degrees in Arizona for 4 straight months. That’s when these are handy. The other 8 months are beautiful and perfect, so these help me get from June thru September.

These things have a history of being great for the heat so I went with the few good reviews I saw and made the purchase. I had them in water and ice for only a couple of hours and it seemed like there was just way to many polymer beads as it had already started bursting at the seams. They got rock hard because of how many were in there and essentially just started falling apart. They were good while they lasted but didn’t go back down so they just kept getting bigger and bigger until they busted.

Great for kayaking and hiking. Keeping the kiddos and grown ups cool. Good value. The beads absorb. Pretty quick after the first soak.
