Most efficient dehumidifier I've had.
I've only had this unit for a few days and boy am I impressed. I will be following up on it overtime however. My first dehumidifier was a GE product. Purchased in 1971, it lasted an unbelievable 26 years! My average these days is three years to seven or eight on average brand. Powerful unit means it only has to run a short period to get to set humidity. Heats the air less than a less powerful unit that has to work longer. So, take the area of your large basement and situate the unit to draw the air from the dampest area, y'know where you leave the Gutenberg Bible, replacing it with the driest air. If the area close to the unit is near humidity set for it will run a few minutes anyway moving any damp pockets in corners. I'm really impressed with the unit but will update my opinion.

Works great
Nice product ! It’s pretty quiet and you can set the humidity level so it shuts off when it reaches the set point . The water collection reservoir is large so you don’t have to empty it as often or you can use the included hose and have it drain continuously. Working great so far !

Not perfect, but works very well.
Unit made an annoying rattle for the first 3 days. Because it sits in the basement, I didn't bother returning it. Eventually went away and it's pretty quiet. Loading and unloading the bucket requires a little wiggling. On the positive, this thing really works. Took my basement from 80%RH to 50% in about an hour and doesn't seem to run too often. Not perfect, but it works!

DIED RIGHT AFTER WARRANTY
I have 4 dehumidifiers running throughout my residence. 3 Have been running for 5 years or more. I purchased this unit for my basement office area. It died right after the 2 year warranty ended. The fan wheel became imbalanced. I would not recommend this manufacturer.

Great Dehumidifier for the Price, will remove water like nothing else.
I'll set up the scenario really quick and tell you why I bought this unit.I recently purchased a home where the AC unit is too large, this means that it cools down to the temperature really quick and doesn't remove all the moisture. I live in Houston and in the summer we're usually in the upper digits of humidity (80-90%) and the evenings, especially the mornings, were getting a little bit out of hand.I conducted a lot of research before I picked a dehumidifier, if you know me that involves lots of internet searches, product reviews and general scrutinizing, it's not easy plunking down $300 on something you order over the internet without looking at it in person. I think I came at this one from several different searches and they all rated this unit pretty high and after a couple of weeks I finally convinced myself that I needed it, one too many mornings waking up in an uncomfortably high humidity.I set this unit up in the bathroom across from my laundry room which leads outside to the backyard. I'll be honest, I also have a cat that likes going in the back yard so he goes in and out as he pleases as well. Long story short, in the mornings the RH gets to 60% inside the house, both because the AC has quit running and the temperatures have stabilized overnight...insert science and meteorology here and lots of other useless information that you probably don't care about. The unit was hooked up using the provided plastic line, don't think this is an expensive line, just something that is mass manufactured for maybe a dollar, I'll probably replace this with beva-line tubing at one point. I set this on my bathroom sink and ran the line into the sink (it's an extra bathroom in the right place) and turned it on, watched the readouts and saw the 60% RH fall almost immediately. The home felt better and cooler instantly, the RH dropped to 35% within 10 minutes (1450 sqft home) and everyone, including my cat, felt much better.I'd definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking to dehumidify a small home or a large room. I want to caution you, the unit is plastic, I would opt for the drain hose, get your own, and set it up in a place where you are not dinking with it a lot. Leave it alone, turn it on and off if you want to save power, don't use the bottom pull out tray, it might break something you can't fix.

THIS DEHUMIDIFIER DOES A PHENOMENAL JOB
I have a professional printing service with my photography business I just started. And it gets so humid in my printing office . Well the humidity ruined about $3000 worth of photo paper that warped due to the humidity. So I grabbed my basement dehumidifier which is a 70 pint and used it for the time being until this one showed up. Well in 24 hours on high I would have an almost filled bucket of 1.5gallons to empty out. This new dehumidifier on LOW fills the 2.2gallon bucket in 14 hours. And it's rated as a 50 pint. It's getting twice the amount of moisturize out of the air running on low. And it's not always running like my other dehumidifier . I am truly impressed with it and it's so simple to use. I highly recommend this unit and will be getting another one for my home.

Works Great!
My old dehumidifier died, so I needed something new. I chose this one because it has a bigger bucket. I didn’t realize how tired my old dehumidifier was until I got this one.

Oversensitive RH readings, but very efficient and relatively quiet. A great product for the price IMHO.
Virtually all the comments to be found for this item on Amazon.com were written by people who had received this unit for free or at a discount price in exchange for a review. I found this unsettling and was wary to purchase this item as a consequence. Furthermore, as a relatively new company Ivation has virtually zero internet presence, so I found little online to reassure me. I have read that Ivation is a forward-thinking company intent on using clever technological innovations to produce superior consumer products at affordable prices. I have also read that their customer service is A1, but again this is not based on a great deal of evidence. This being said, there are not a great deal of quality-rated dehumidifiers at affordable prices on Amazon, and reading between the lines I was inclined to trust in the positive impressions the many reviewers had of this product. I also found its full range of features to perfectly satisfy my needs. I therefore took a leap of faith!I paid full price for this item. The unit arrived on time but was upside down and the packaging was damaged (it had clearly been dropped), which did not inspire confidence. I contacted Amazon, and the seller offered a 20% refund for the damaged packaging. Since the 1-year warranty still applies, I accepted this solution. The product itself appeared unscathed, and when put to the test I can conclude it performs commendably well. It is surprisingly small for a 70-pint dehumidifier and not as heavy as the 3-in-1 portable air conditioner I was using previously. It also runs significantly quieter. The temperature (in degrees C or F) and relative humidity readouts on the digital display are clear and informative. It came with a short (3') hose which I am using to continuously drain into a centrally located floor drain in our 1,000 sq ft basement. My favourite feature on this unit is the ability to maintain one's desired humidity level. If I set my desired humidity to 45%, the machine will dehumidify until the relative humidity reaches 40%, and will not restart until it reaches 50%. This is a valuable improvement on some other top-rated dehumidifiers (e.g. Danby), on which the fan runs continuously regardless of humidity. Because a 70-pint dehumidifier is more efficient at lowering humidity than a 50-pint unit, for example, it spends less time operating than a lower-capacity unit and therefore produces greater energy savings over time. This unit is very effective at reducing and subsequently maintaining a healthy humidity level in my basement. Normally my basement sits at about 62%, but with this unit it is being steadily maintained at around 46%. The only caveat I would care to mention is this unit seems to estimate relative humidity levels at approximately 10% higher than the humidistat in my basement, which I tend to trust more. I therefore set it to 60%, and it keeps my humidistat reading between 45% and 50%.A great product for the price IMHO. Hopefully it will stand the test of time!...

Replacement working well at the moment. .
Received dehumidifier Feb 10/20. Worked well until this week. Then it got incredibly noisy. It sounds like the whole thing is about to fall apart. What do I need to do to return it for warranty? I phoned and a new one was sent and received in about 5 days. Different model but works well to this point. I’m a much happier customer. Thank you Ivation.

Little over 1 year use and compressor no longer working
Very frustrating to have a 1 year product no longer work. The fan is working, however the unit's compressor is no longer working - not drawing water from the air. Am trying to reach Ivation customer service, to discuss replacing this 500$ unit .Follow-up 1 week later: Ivation customer service says unit is "beyond warranty time of 12 months" - have had unit for 16 months ... Unacceptable. Will reach out to Amazon
