Good when fresh. Packaging needs to be better. Not sure about inventory rotation.
Recently ordered 2 boxes at the same time I got two vastly different products. Ordered in May, one box expired 6 months later, the other 1 year later. The box that expires in 6 months had different artwork on the box, darker chips, and stale chips. The newer box had chips that were crunchier, less hard and tasted much better. The stale chips seemed to be "hard." If someone at amazon reads this I would wish that they would look into how they stock these items -- Are they first in first out, and I happened to get two boxes at the transition? If someone from kay's natural reads this I would hope they would consider using foil packaging instead of plain plastic There is definitely a freshness issue here.

Something Went Wrong with the Crispy Parmesan!
I've been buying Kay's Naturals Protein chips for years. I usually love them, but something went wrong with this batch!I ordered five boxes with six bags each. I've opened six of them, and have thrown out six of them. They taste burnt and bland. I requested a refund which Amazon gave me.If anyone from Kay's is reading this: Please check the quality of Lot #04919B with an expiration date of 05/18/20.

These used to be GREAT! Something has changed...
I have been ordering these protein chips for years and have always loved them! This recent order was very different. I am thinking it may be a new recipe? The chips are now very flat, hard and tasteless. Also, my recent box had 20-25 fewer chips than I had normally been receiving. I know this because I always count them as I portion each box into 5 equal serving baggies. And with this recent box, there were only enough chips for 4 baggies. The price is not lower so I do feel like I am receiving much less for the money. Not sure I will continue to purchase these...which is disappointing for this long time customer.

Decent satisfying savory snack option, not so great flavor
Kay's Natural line includes one of my go-to protein snacks, but their Protein Chips are not the best tasting possible (but not as bad as the pretzels); the brand definitely does sweet flavors better than savory ones. I have tried both the `Parmesan` and `Chili Nacho` flavors, and the taste didn't impressed me. The crunch and serving size makes them a satisfying snack, I just wished the brand would improve the savoryflavors. The protein chips overall make a decent savory protein snack and I do like the fact that they are soy based (I try to avoid whey based protein snacks, but popular options like Quest and SimplyProtein do taste better). The taste, while savory and not awful, it's something that calls for me. The `Parmesan` has a very mild cheesiness and barely reminds me of actual parmesan cheese. The `Chili Nacho` has some hints of chili nacho, but it's not really spicy, and it's even milder on the cheese factor. Oddly, some bags (even in the same 6-pack) were a little bit salty than other.Texture wise, the chips are quite dry, more like crisps than crunchy chips. I personally don't mind the dryness, but I see why some people might consider the texture cardboard like. For the portion size (34g), there are quite a lot of chips in the bag. I also find them quite a filling snack at 115 calories, but definitely not a meal replacement.I wouldn't call these chips necessarily a healthier snack, but the ingredients are not that bad (mostly soy protein isolate, along with flours and starches). The plastic bags are quite thick and sturdy, the chips are well protected and mostly whole. I regularly order from the brand, different flavors, and they are always delivered in good conditions.
