Keeps the squirrels off the bird feeder
I bought this specifically to put under my bird feeder to accommodate hungry squirrels. I buy a backyard wildlife blend that has peanuts, sunflower seeds, and other nuts/seeds and put about a 1/2 cup of it in here and let what the birds drop from the feeder fill it the rest of the way. I haven’t had any problems with squirrels bothering the hanging feeder since then. The mesh is fine/small, so smaller things like millet don’t fall through. It does make it slightly difficult to clean, but it’s nothing that a good scrub brush can’t handle. I have to brush mine off every few days because I have it sitting on dirt, with no overhead cover, and live in an area where it rains frequently. I try to keep it clean so it doesn’t get a bunch of mud in it, and so the seeds don’t sprout or grow mold. I’ve had mine outside for a few weeks now and haven’t seen any signs of rusting anywhere, even though the dirt it sits on is almost always at least damp. This may be best suited if placed on a hard surface with overhead coverage, but I’m very happy with it! I hope this helps!

Perfect for Feeding Birds
Some reviews mentioned that the seeds were falling through the mesh. I don’t don’t see how -- the openings are 1/16th of an inch; too small for birdseed to fall through. The openings do allow water to pass through, so the birdseed can dry out after a rain. Holds about a cup of seeds. I recommend this feeder.

Perfect for ground feeding birds
I really like these platform feeders. They are small, but I don't like putting out too much seed at once, so they fit my needs exactly. I place them inside a critter cage to keep squirrels out, and the small birds like juncos and song sparrows climb inside and have all the seed they need. I'm using white proso millet and the screen on the platform feeders holds the seed just fine, and the rain flows through the screen. I tip the feeder over and the chaff comes right out with a quick shake. They are easy to clean with a tooth brush and hot soapy water.

Get out your ruler, it is small
It is solid for a little feeder, looks very nice. I do like it

Perfect!
At first I worried they would be too small since I have a lot of hungry critters but they are the right size combined for the day's feed.. that way if it rains or something, not much food is wasted... glad I bought these vs the bigger single one.

Not bad - kinda pointless though
It's cute but it's pretty messy. I didn't realize that it's basically a sifter so all the dust and tiny seeds fall right through it and there's a huge mess of seeds everywhere.I got this so my cats could watch the birds hop around on the balcony. It's much smaller than I pictured but I guess I didn't check the size of it before I purchased it so that's my fault - although i don't think a larger one would be necessary TBH.The reason I say it's kinda pointless though is because you can really just use a plate from your own set of dishes or something and then not spend $20. I didn't think of that until after I'd been using it for a few weeks, LOL.

Bird Feeder
This is a GREAT bird feeder for someone who does not want to do a lot of setup work. Just put the bird seed in the container set it out and watch the birds come. 🙂

Really serves the purpose
Got these to feed the squirrels nuts to keep them out of the birdfeeder and the deer that wander up at night that like shelled walnuts and almonds as well. There a nice size for small amounts. I put fruit on one side and nuts in the other and leave under the bird feeder. Works nicely.
